If you keep your feet apart while you move, you will ALWAYS be in a position to throw a punch, right? If your footwork is bad, you will be in a bad position if your opponent throws a punch at you. #boxing #boxingtraining

I was taught (many many moons ago when tv’s were black & white) that the easiest way to remember to maintain your stance is to move the foot that is closest to the direction you want to go, first. So if you want to move forward, your front foot moves first. If you want to move left your left foot moves first etc etc. obviously it still take practice but that’s a good rule of thumb to ensure your stance doesn’t close. My footwork differs slightly as I’m a Thai boxer and not a western boxer, but the principle is the same. Thanks for the video.

@@jonathananderson5990 I don't know, I mean as an a ex boxer most other people would make very small mistakes. I say other people because I was unconventional, I would make mistakes all the time and sometimes even on purpose to get them to give me a counter. I think the only actual reason it's always worked is because people tried to figure it out, and honestly I had no clue what I was doing especially in competition, so they just got confused maybe because I'm definitely not as good as people let me be... If that makes any sense? I miss it.

@OMINOUSVHSTAPE3 ай бұрын
@@stevelogan4443 The "Going The Distance" is from Rocky, not this rap version of it on the video. It doesn't even sound the same. The Rocky "Going the Distance" theme is more close to the one used on Biggie's "VICTORY" song. Not to mention the obvious fact that this version he has on his video has LYRICS and "Going The Distance" doesn't. You could just type it into the KZbin search if you're still confused.
