My grandfather was featherweight champion of New England in 1924-26. Fought once for a world title, lost. At the age of 68 while walking through town with one of his grandchildren, 3 local college kids thought they'd have some fun, took my grandfathers hat at tossed it between themselves. When they refused to give the hat back, he only asked once, one punch was thrown, one college kid out cold, the hat placed on my grandfather's head. professional fighters might lose the desire to compete, they never lose the ability to overcome. That animal Tyson trained to become all those years ago only needs a second to return.

Roy Jones Jr. was one hell of a skilled and feared boxer in his day. Incredibly quick and powerful. When he and Tyson fought a few years back it looked like Tyson was holding way back and somewhat toying with him. Foreman was able to fight in his 50's, and Tyson looks like he is in way better shape, and far faster that Foreman ever was. I think Paul has been on borrowed time for quite a while now.

A lot of young people think if you are over 40 you are past it. They think grandad, but that isn't always the case. It depends on how you have looked after youself the last 25 years. In the end it's all down to why Mike is doing it and how serious he is. I workout 3 times a week and at 51 can drag much younger guys up steep hills no problem. Biggest difference between 51 and 30 in my case, is that physical damage takes longer to recover from. It might not be significant on the day, it's the following few days where you don't bouce back as quick as you used to. It's the one thing that tells me I'm getting old, in my mind I'm still 30.

Everybody wants to see this fight. Even people who don't really care about boxing. If Paul wins then everybody wants to see him get knocked out in his next fight. The money isn't in how good the boxer is, but in how many people want to see him.

Cuz Paul is a master of marketing/promoting n a businessman. Paul has no intention of making a career out of boxing in the ring n just building up his promotion company. He's trying to entice Canelo into a massive fight that's close to Mayweather-McGregor if not bigger. If he gets that he'll quit boxing after Canelo TKOs him n he's in the hospital

Truthfully, even though Tyson will be 58, JP has never been in the ring with anyone approaching Tyson’s experience level. He could learn a lot. He’s worked his way to a 110-ish ranking, which is respectable. Now he’ll get an opportunity to see the difference between a 110 placed boxer and a champion boxer; even if that boxer isn’t in his prime. If Tyson is taking this fight as seriously as it appears, JP will have his hands full.

100% correct, the only reason Teddy Atlas ever got on the T.V was because he was Mike's former trainer and was prepared to shit on him because he hated him. And still to this day he takes digs at Mike every chance he gets! What a piece of shit Teddy Atlas is! The funny thing is Mike Tyson will still be a name in 100 years time when Teddy will be long forgotten. If you ask me, I reckon he wants Mike to hit him so he can sue him, he'd love that, its be the only way he could get a 'win' over Mike.

I think that Tyson has met that age where when he thinks about it, he would like to be what he once was at least one more time - just because he knows he can do it and he will enjoy just manifesting his nature. I am older than him, but that is the motive that keeps me at the gym, recovering from having let myself go when I was focused too much on other things, especially my career. People who are not yet at the point where they can viscerally see the coming of the end of their potency probably cannot understand just how powerful this motive is to a man who was proud of what he was at his peak. It is not something you do for the opinion of other people. It is something you do for your opinion of yourself.

It is interesting to hear that Mike got his shit together financially and physically in order to do this. Maybe it was a wakeup call like "man i use to be the best...maybe i should act like it again....maybe i miss this." And after hearing mike talk about his attitude adjustment maybe he wants to feel boxing through this new lense. Fighting angry is powerful but u feel that anger burn everywhere and it makes u a monster. A true master, in control of their emotions, doing the sport for the sports sake, that would be something we all neeed to see.

Thank you. It's all because "60" was mumbled by someone associated with Tyson in one of the early interviews. Nobody can bother to Google it and type the correct numbers, with "60" being used to signify he's an old man. What's chilling is Tyson moves faster and with more power than 90% of "Athletes" commenting from the ages of 25-40 could. Period.

Tyson is in amazing shape for being 57.5 years old. We are not talking about old man Foreman here and even George came back in his late 30s and early 40s to fight and became Champ and George was out of shape and he kicked butt. Now this is Iron Mike Tyson who never let his body go he is impressive in his training. Mike is going to hit him so hard that his legs are going to wobble if he is not going to give him a concussion.

@@Wokonwater Foreman was 39 in 1987 when he returned to boxing he finally retired for good in 1997 so he was 49 when he retired permanently.
