@@MorenoBoxing That'll be awesome, Coach! One question on the footwork - many amateur trainers recommend against or even prohibit putting feet together. But you as well as some other advanced/pro fighters seem to be doing that on a skip step/ while shuffling around. Can you explain the right way to do that move in some of your videos? Thanks!

Anton Zubenko I already filmed that, I’ll upload it soon!

Frazier didn't use the Philly shell he used what is called a cross armed guard the Philly shell is derived from it but it isn't the same thing

Felix trinidad was a great front foot pressure boxer & with the weight on the front he could create power on left hooks & also brings the right hand closer to opponent

The hardest I’ve ever been punched in a sparring match was someone who fought off the back foot he was a counter puncher. It’s very hard to hit a back foot fighter with a great guard and head movement

but it's also really easy to rock a back foot fighter with a shitty defense
@HulkVahkiin2 жыл бұрын
@@nomecognome8737 It's also really easy to rock a shitty boxer in general, what else lol?
@nomecognome87372 жыл бұрын
@@HulkVahkiin yeah I meant it's not like fighting on the back foot is the key or something You can find so many guys in the gym who do that, badly imitating Mayweather, and they get punished like hell, cause they would just stay there telegraphing even their defensive movements, not only the offensive ones, and it's so easy to figure em out and punch the shit out of em (yes I once was one of those guys lool)
@HulkVahkiin2 жыл бұрын
@@nomecognome8737 Yeah, but Boxers that aren't techincally correct should be an exempt example of a con in a technique to be fair. As the guy said, it's hard to hit a back-foot fighter who has a good guard and head movement. To then say it's easy to hit a back-foot fighter with bad defense is no better than saying it's easy to hit any boxer with bad defense.
@nomecognome87372 жыл бұрын
@@HulkVahkiin I pointed that out cause it's more dangerous since they would count on their (not good yet) head movement, eventual (badly done) shoulder roll which would let em uncovered 90% of the times an knocked the fuck out Even a guy with a standard "high guard" covering his face and body is harder to hit, that's what I meant

Last Friday morning, I was shadowing-Boxing, Minding my own business, and some little old dude who I have had WORDS with on a prior day(like Four days ago), came over to where I was Shadowing-Boxing at. He said to me, Man, let's squash the problem that we had earlier. I said to him: "NO, Don'T try to be like you want to end the problem that you started with me".I was NOT trying to start a fight with the old little dude, but, I just felt that he was wrong for starting the situation with me in the first place.So, his reply to me was "FUCK IT" let's fight!He proceeded to roll up his leg sheeves to above his ankles,( I guess, he had on long pants). He than seemingly started to dig into his pockets as like he was gonna pull out a weapon to use against me. The whole time, I kept a little distance between us, B/C you never know what Weapon a person may have on them.I Don'T know why, But, I quickly rolled up my pants legs to my ankles(FUNNY, HA).I guess the guy thought about pulling out whatever he was fiddling with in his pocket. He then aggressively approached me with his hands up in fists! The first thing that I usually do is (in response to that type of threat is) put my fists up in a guard to ready myself for whatever might come my way.I guess I first wanted to see how he uses his fists in a fight.In hind In hind sight, I should have put my fists and guard up from the onset, I didNOT make a fist nor did I put up my guard.Mind you, this guy is about 5 to 7 yrs older than me, he is Shorter than me, and he has a gut.He didNot throw even one punch at me!All he did was the Macarena dance(I'M DYING LMAOF). he kept touching his elbows with his clenched fists, to scare me or make me laugh!All I did was I got into a low-boxing/Tae Kwon Do stance, and he said to me: What are you doing? I said to him "Come ON".I barely moved other than in a quarter-turn, about 4 times as he danced around,(like he was doing something that I should be afraid of).After about half a minute, He got some winded that he quit dancing a said, Man, I Don'T have time for this and he started to leave.I could have Beat the SHIT out of that guy at any time during this altercation!I said to myself that, I will wait to see if this dude is going to swing his fist at me, at which point, I was gonna give him a few punches to his body and face.I was mindful that the Police(would Never drove by, oddly) would assume that I was attacking the old, out of shape dude, when all I was doing was defending myself, as I did nothing more than move my feet in a pattern and moved my upper body to slip what might have came my way.This dude knew(or should have known) that he couldNot do much with me in a fight. This really occurred and it could have turned into a situation where I would have got arrested for defending myself and he would be going to the hospital.
