A dynafile type belt sander works well for blending/smoothing and like your mentioned concern about overgrinding things it stays very controllable. I picked up a 211 a few months ago and its easily become my favorite mig machine. If you had a CNC plasma you would be a dangerous man.
@PuddinsFabShop4 жыл бұрын
That’s a great idea! I love the 211. I’ve had zero issues with mine and it’s range is great. I have a small plasma table I just need to learn to use it.

That now is one stiff rigid frame! What now is the best way to coat the inside to help prevent corrosion? Also once done, the inside is perfect for running a wire harness.

Are you using "Hot" or "Cold" rolled steel ??
@garymucher95904 жыл бұрын
Your little assistant needs to start welding. While you think she might be too young, I helped my grandson weld up a little piece of steel and he loved doing that. Of course with all the safety equipment on and total body coverage for her too! But once they start doing that, they love it! JMHO

Did you use 1/8" Cold rolled on this bud?? I am doing a 71 C-10 and want to do exactly what you did.... Any other suggestions, other than what you said in this video?? also how many sheets did you use?? what size sheets? Thanks for Documenting this man, It helped me alot!!!! East Tennessee Appreciates you Puddin!!!!
@PuddinsFabShop4 жыл бұрын
Yep, 1/8th cold roll. I don’t have any suggestions besides take your time trimming the plates down. It’s really as easy as it seems in this video. I believe the sheet was 4x6 when I started and I had plenty leftover. I had previously cut 2x4 off the original 4x8 sheet. So one should be plenty. I’m glad the video helps and I appreciate you watching!
@davidcrew133 Жыл бұрын
Great video, very informative, thanks! Please take this the right way, but, please make sure your assistant (and you) wear eye protection ESPECIALLY when either of you are using compressed air to clean. My daughter helped with my 50 Chevy 5-window and those are memories we still talk about.

Don’t forget to leave access holes for mounting shocks, crossmembers and body mounts like I did. I should’ve welded nuts to the backside, then you don’t need access holes to hold the nut while you tighten the bolts.

@MrSparkn6874 жыл бұрын
@@PuddinsFabShop nothing wrong with that. I have the same mentally most of the time. But there are some really good people that are going to be there. I'm about 40 minutes from you west of you. Maybe we can go cruise sometime when I can get off my ass and get my ratrod done lol
