Having just watched it , the trailer was so misleading like they hyped up the freezing of NY which only lasted 15 mins Like it didn’t align with the finish movie at all ,thought it was going to go into a horror direction

People believe what they want to believe, and will listen to the opinions and 'facts' provided by unreliable sources provided by people like Peck and or lie to themselves in order to make themselves feel secure about their perception of the world and how it works so they can sleep at night. It's that who ignorance is bliss thing. "There is no such thing as ghosts, it's just a government conspiracy or a scam to get our money by this company! I wont fall for it. I am anti-ghost!" you see what I'm saying? It's like the ghost version of that. Part of it is kind of understandable, imagine living in a world where ghosts and the things that scared you as a kid are not only possibly real, but Lovecraftian cosmic horrors from beyond exist and could end the world and your only defense...is a extermination company that could be shut down by idiotic bureaucrats or fail to deal with the entity. Scary thought.
