For CGI, they did a phenomenal job making Egon's ghost look as human as possible with little to no distinction of it being computer generated; a difficult feat. It looks like Harold Ramis is actually there. Impressive. RIP to my favorite ghostbuster, and the legend who directed the first two. Thanks for making my childhood

I was both happy and sad about this scene. Despite the fact that the last time we got all four actors voicing lines for their characters in the Ghostbusters video game, this scene would be the last time we would see all four OG characters together on the big screen. Rest in Peace, Mr. Ramis and Mr. Reitman. You are both missed. :*(

one thing it took me a bit to realize, was the logistics of the OG's showing up when they did. Ray gets the phone call, gets a few clues that Egon's running off had more than what was on the surface, and he calls up Peter and Winston and they IMMEDIATELY get the move on to go help. Decades of them thinking he had done them dirty, but the hint that his kids needed some help, and they were there.

@centex7409

Ramis and Murray were very close friends IRL until the filming of Groundhog Day. The arguments and anger boiled over into some actual violence on set. They then didn't even speak to each other for over 20 years. Then one day, out of the blue, Murray told family that he had a feeling about Ramis. So he shows up at his house with what he remembered was Ramis's favorite doughnuts. They talked through the night and made up.. Ramis passed away not long after that. Murray became a notoriously difficult prima Donna to have on set. Ramis was one of the few people he'd listen to and reign it in. But after fame seriously got to his head, even Ramis could no longe contain him. It's honestly a sad story.. I'm more inclined to believe Murray has real psychological issues that needed resolving. He must of finally got the help he needed, then sensed time was short and didn't want to be on bad terms with his best friend. But two decades.. ugh...

The argument happened during the filming of Groundhog Day.. Ramis's father got into a scuffle with Murray over his severely bad treatment of Ramis. @@DEATH111183 Im going off the credits of the movie and the IMDB page for the movie and for the actor, Bob Gunton, which all have him listed as the person playing the motion capture for the role. Mister rogers tattoos was always a rumor that's been discredited, as well as claims he was in the military since he has no service record and never claimed to have served. There's actual evidence that Bob Gunton did the motion capture for Egon, including video of him doing so before they super imposed Harold Ramis' face on him in post-production. So between the IMDB pages, movie credits, movie director talking about him in the role, and video of him doing the acting role on the set before the face superimposition being available online, I think it's safe to say it isnt a rumor or theory that he did the role. Plus, the VA for Igon in the cartoons, Maurice Lamrche, is credited nowhere for the role of Igon in Afterlife.

@@Aaron-ej9ql I'm not trying to debate with you. I'm just saying I've heard different. Also IMDb isn't the infallible source of information on movie and TV info people think it is. Hell last I looked at it (5 or 6 years ago) it still claimed dragon ball/dragon ball z was ported to American TV in 1997, but I watched it, dubbed, in 91 on upn kids after school at 3:30 pm Monday through Friday..... DBZ Sunday morning cartoon block 6:30am to 8:30am. IMDb can and has been wrong given that knowledge. As far as the Mister Rogers reference, I was stating that to illustrate that we might differ on the logistics of behind the scenes info, but we still agree with the fact he shaped the childhood of a generation, much like ramis, akryod, and reitman did with the Ghostbusters. Nevermind the hearsay behind the camera.
@Aaron-ej9ql
@Aaron-ej9ql 5 ай бұрын
@DEATH111183 I'm down to see any actual evidence that you're right. Please put it here. You can actually see the filmed footage of the guy I said filming the actual scenes. That's pretty irrefutable. The actual footage of him on set, filming the scenes, before they spliced Harold ramis face over his. If you can give me even a picture of the VA from the cartoon even on the set it'd be something. Literally Google bob on the set and you can watch him acting alongside of the actors in the movie, including the original cast. Is all of that made up to secretly hide a voice actors actual performance for unexplained reasons? I tried putting a link to the video of Bob filming the scenes here but it was deleted. You can Google it though. I can't imagine why they'd credit Bob in the actual movie credits, have footage of him filming the actual scenes alongside of the cast, and give him 100% credit, all to refilm it and hide an unknown voice actors actual involvement. That's just insane and there is zero evidence except you saying so. Your claim is the credits in the movie are wrong, IMDB is wrong, the director is lying, and the behind the scenes filmed footage is faked all to have an uncredited VAs standing in secretly hidden for no reason whatsoever. Yeah, logic checks out.

I thought it was real cool and classy that they brought back a legend in ghost form but what makes it even cooler is the fact that they got a legend to do the body double for Harold Ramis 0:56

I definitely get the impression that with those last lines, they weren't acting.
@Yavanna79
@Yavanna79 Күн бұрын
Yes you are right, they weren't acting and Aykroids tears was real. Those lines must have come straight from their hearts. Of course, they supposed to act, but their feelings must have surfaced. They were friends in real life, even though they had been apart for a long time, and I don't know how it was handled on set, but it was done wonderfully on screen. And maybe it was a good thing that Egon didn't speak at all. It could have actually ruined the so-called magic. Sometimes the image, gestures and just the music say a lot more than words. And may he rest in peace, unless he decides to tease his friends a little. :D And I'm also one of those who really cries by watching this scene. And I don't understand those who think that's weird. There is nothing strange about having feelings and reacting to what you see, feel and hear. What I find weirder is not reacting and feeling anything.

Ghostbusters Afterlife is a good movie. The new cast members are good. Getting to meet Egon's family. It felt good to see the original Ghostbusters together. Egon, Ray Winston and Peter. Back together again. It was emotional to. When your a big fan of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2. To see them together years later is great. I can't get over it's been 40 years for the first Ghostbusters movie. 👻❤️

I don’t care what anybody says. For Ghostbusters fans from the 80’s and 90’s this was an absolutely amazing scene, done to perfection. It may be short but to me it’s the Ghostbusters 3, we all waited for.

Aw I got a little emotional. I watched the original films in the early 90's when I was maybe 10-12 years old. I watched this movie with my 13 year old daughter this year. A genuine passing of the baton to the next gen, but honouring what came before. Love it!

I have to be honest as a big Ghostbusters fan. The movie itself was well put together, the Actors were Fantastic, but this moment right here, was a bit off a tear jerker, to see Harold Ramis with the team was amazing.

Harold Ramis should have got a reward for being not only the best ghostbuster but a true legend R.I.P mate even to this DAY in 2024 nearly at Christmas i still play the OG song ( Savin The Day ) from ghostbusters 1 just for you it would have been cool if they played that song when he started to appear as a ghost would not only help tie in the franchise but would have given some OG fans some flash backs Miss ya buddy
