@@flamingscar5263 There are two timelines running here. In the original one, Young K chases down Boris and stops his plan, but in the crossfire J's father is killed in action, Child J is neuralized and the timeline continues as normal. Young K more than likely didn't know who Child J was, other than a kid who just lost his father; chances are K neuralized himself in between the past and the present multiple times to protect secrets and even if K did remember, he probably didn't remember until he was recruiting J. Then in the second timeline, created when Boris travelled back in time, Young K and J stop the two Boris, but J's father is killed in action, this time Young K definitely knows who J is and neuralized Child J, and the timeline continued without Boris the same, because Boris in jail or dead made no difference to the timeline.

What i allways found funny amd quite seeming as if it was destiny, is that as we all know the 2 most common family names in an American phone book are Smith and Jones so they are first choice for aliases even for real agents. Amd the poster of first movie showed Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones dressed in the black suits with the caption "mr Smith and Mr Jones"

I have wondered that since I saw MIB3 as well. I don't think they did to be honest. Always picked up on K searching for a guy like himself and scouting possibilities in MIB1 and that he had followed J's career for awhile. The whole line about, "have you ever flashy thinged me" and the fact that K knew enough of J's personal and career information that he could write a Police after action report for him was planted. Though I can say I did like the twist that they put on it for MIB3. Like it was enough that J went back and worked with K so that K knew in the future who he was looking for and was the only one who "knew" who he wanted to recruit but when the kid voice comes from that truck it just made the whole trilogy even better.

You know this movie explains the brighter side of Chaos Theroy. Chaos theroy states that where there is chaos, there will always be. However, it shows that even through great heartache... we grow the most. The fact that J never went back to save his dad and the fact that K didn't go back in time as well to try and change the past. Instead he gave the one yhing that makes Chaos theory look like childs play... hope. K gave James or J hope when his father was gone, as well as a message that inspires hope in those that hear it. "Your daddy was a hero."
@stevecanham1145
@stevecanham1145 2 ай бұрын
I think they play off the fact and use the words to show someone will die during that sequence, and by saving J's father should one of them have gone back again, one of them would have to die themselves or would have led to young K dying which likely would lead to the destruction of the earth at some point since K and J have saved the world many times its lead to believe and without those events J would have likely followed in his father's footsteps in the military and would never been recruited to MiB and even if he was considered, back in the first movie K is the only one who believes J would make a good agent. His father was a hero because through his sacrifice the world has continued for decades.
@negadoge
@negadoge 2 ай бұрын
@stevecanham1145 That is a good point that touches on one of the major aspects of Chaos Theory... the three aspects of chaos theory are as follows. 1: Chaos is but a way of life, and we must find our own peace in this chaos. 2: Where there is chaos, regardless of external factors, there will always be chaos. This is a shared aspect of predestination theory. 3: Chaos is as order does.... order controls while chaos confronts... where there is order, there is the chaos... where there isn't one... the other isn't as well. Chaos can only destroy what needs to be broken while order will continue to build up and refine what is broken. The one that matters the most here would be the 2nd aspect. This is actually an answer as to "Would you go back and kill Hitler before he rose to power?" The true answer being, Hitler was just a man... if he wasn't there, then someone of equal or more chaotic possibility would've taken his place... then the holocaust would've been so much worse.

@@TheOneandOnlyDeelax and @joshs6147 K had an older model Neuralizer, fed from a battery pack on the belt. We only see him attempt to use it once in the film and it kept beeping at him and making him fiddle with the settings, causing J to pull his future model out just before Griff told them not to lie to anyone. Makes me think the older model was unreliable or temperamental, while the big one back at base may not have had the same issue. It's also a case of K saw J with tech that was half a century ahead of what MiB was using at the time and needed to interrogate him, and MiB protocol requires interrogation being done at MiB HQ, so when J was being uncooperative during said interrogation, K took him to the Neuralizer room. Either J would start telling the truth or his entire life would get wiped and rewritten by MiB.

😮‍💨 the problem with the MIB sequels is they were both comedies first and fantasy police investigation second, the opposite of the first movie

I'll take comedy first any day. If the movie/show ain't funny, it ain't got much interesting in it imo.

@O111e I disagree, the first one was more captivating we were following along with this alien police mistery, you didn't even know what the villain wanted or even looked like till the climax of the movie, there's the mistery about why some aliens seemed to be fleeing Earth, the crap about Orion's belt bla bla bla, that kept you hooked, comedy was just sprinkled here and there, and hey surprise! it's the highest rated MIB to date, the ONLY one to get an score of over 90% in Rotten Tomatoes. Movie producers watched it and thought "hey whacky aliens! Will Smith making funny faces!, gotcha"

I wish this was the movie where they flipped the dynamic around, have J be the veteran, more experienced agent while he instructs K. I got kinda tired of J constantly seeming like he has no idea how to conduct himself as an MiB agent.

Maybe if it had been an earlier, younger K, but the K we got was already rather experienced and familiar with the job. Besides, J went back to a time period drastically different from his own. This was not a period in time where he could give too much input on.

mib3 is one of those movies that has no right to be as good as it was, like think about it, mib was a popcorn action flick, mib2 was a kinda not great sequel and then along comes mib3 being goofy as shit and yet emotionally charged in such a way that it remains more memorable of the three films

The guns the alien pointed at K look like the modern MIB weapons K and J had in the first 2 movies. That means MIB at some point saw those weapons were superior to whatever blue ones they were using in the 60s

The weapons and technologies were not invented by humans; in the first film, K said it was "a gift from the guests."
