Boy & Bear has spanned a lifetime of rock n roll………………mine. Yea, I am one of the few to be able to say “I grew up on rock n roll”. There were too many to name in a few short words but they all were the greats that had an impact on this world……….this universe. Forget the bombs, the money, the race, the evil, the cold hearted and the rest of it all. These are those that got us through. I am sixty-eight years young. I look 20 years younger than that. It’s because of rock n roll. In what I believe is a unique niche of it all is Boy & Bear. They understand. They are the bridge.
@mitchroberts16046 жыл бұрын
Very nicely said. Im 19yo and grew up with different music ofcourse. I always only listened to the popular modern songs because everyone did. But a while ago I discovered the good old rock&roll thanks to a friend of mine. I now barely listen to moderm popular songs and blast Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler(solo), Kaleo, Boy&bear, etc. all day. I found my real taste in music which I will listen to forever. I like alot of other genres too, but my interest in them is not as consistant as in rock&roll.

In all you'll see What was it that came down on me that night A conjuring, I held on to that moment And lie just to make it alive I stood out there in the covering In the baskings of a holy night And I was lucid and conscious And hovering like a firefly My mind stretched out on the canopy It put its arms out slow And I heard the whispers of silence floating down from the radio So come on, come on I'm ready now I got the feeling honey like I'm ready to roll You see I'm not gonna wait till the end of me 'Cause I got the burning fire in bed of my soul I saw the light from a kettle gun Sixteen days under a Southern Sun And there were times when I thought that I wouldn't mind it if I lost my mind out there You wouldn't believe me if I told you so The things I saw were enough to make the man in me A man in me, make a man of me So come on, come on I'm ready now Go get your things out honey, let's get ready to roll Oh I can feel the wave coming over me I've been waiting for this day too long just to let it all go As a child I was wonder-eyed at the thought that I might know A life in the ecstasy of Rock'n Roll O-oh-oh i'm not taking it slow I'm an arrow in a bow You think that I don't know, what it is that makes me glow So come on, come on I'm ready now I got the feeling honey like I'm ready to roll You see I'm not gonna wait till the end of me 'Cause I got the burning fire in the bed of my soul

There are a lot of comments about why they aren't more popular in the US. I'm in California and I've been listening to them for a few years. The way I discovered them was on pandora. Algorithyms..... The other people that I know that know of them are mostly outdoor people. Climbers, backpackers, kayakers etc.. They're definitely pop and I would say here they fall into the genre of Coldplay(although they are newer and younger). This genre in the US started losing popularity a while back to other pop genres(Billie Eyelash etc..). A lot of people here still listeing to Boy and Bear's general genre are older(late 30's, 40's 50's). Also, it's worth notng that the songs that are known here are completely different then the top ten most know BnB songs in Austrailia. Thanks to .....Algorythms.... The most popular song you are likely to hear here is "Just Dumb" . We play it around the campfire on expedition multi day rafting trips.

"Coldplay"??!!! 😰😖🤮 OK, if you're putting the thumbscrews on, I guess I can _kinda_ see where you're coming from there - but I'm just _Sooo_ glad I didn't hear that comparison before coming to Boy and Bear myself!

To the people commenting that this song has a late 1970s sound. Yes, it does. And that sound is Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill." Thematically and musically. This is like a well-crafted updating of that classic.

My only guess the reason this group doesn't excel in todays world. Their style is reminiscent of the 1980's, which in turn only attracts the baby boomer generation. If this group had been around late 1970's and 1980's they would have undoubtedly ruled the airwaves. Great lyrics, awesome harmonies with a lead vocalist that stands out on his own. Catchy beat, with an infectious chorus and music hooks all make them unforgettable.
