For all the outrage and sadness this film engenders, feel free to laugh at the irony of this: The real-life Victor Sykes (played by director Joel Edgerton) also left the program and is now living happily ever after....with his husband...in Texas. :-)

Is Jenna stupid? In my experience, very few churches are about love. Most reject homosexuality. Most divide us, judge us. Organized religion is medieval, and I wish we'd evolve already.
@Fireoncityy5 жыл бұрын
Eh sounds like very extreme churches. The moral fiber of christianity is objectively love however it's very commonly abused and misconstrued to what you're speaking of and it's horrible. I know very many churches. Mostly non denominational that of course say the bible says it's a sin because the bible does say that but they love everyone just the same and treat all humans as sinners but that accepting christ regardless will bring you to heaven. Super complicated and very unfortunate.

3:20 Church is about love, acceptance and tolerance, says the journalist. Miss journalist got it from where?? It is Godly love where you love your neighbor as yourself, then acceptance to accept who God made you to be in his image, and then tolerance of who and of what, is her pov even biblical? We cannot talk about God without the bible.

It is a shame that GREED and sensationalism keep this film from being shown for free! How many more people would watch, if only it was not a "Buy or Rent" only? Which is really more important to Garrard, education or MONEY? We have our answer, people.

I understand his experience. He was bullied and mistreated at some point in his life. So were 99% of the worlds population. This guy is carrying on as if he were the only person in the world who was bullied. There are people who suffer much worse such as the Houthie's who are being starved to death in Yemen, or Syrians who are being doused with chlorine gas.

@@vittoriacolona He was sent to a conversion camp! This is much more than just being bullied or mistreated. This is a practice that can psychologically damage a person's mind and send them deeper into depression, anxiety, suicide, etc.. I highly doubt that 99% of the world's population had to undergo conversion camp and endure that kind of torture. The sheer lack of empathy and compassion from people like you is truly disgusting and disrespectful. Stop trying to belittle people's traumatic experiences by bringing up other topics. I get what you're saying to say, BUT THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION. Various of horrible things happens to people, but that doesn't make their suffering any less valid than others. Shame on you.
