lucy n I’m so so sorry that happened to your cousin. Parents are suppose to be there for your children, not shun them away because of their sexuality. If I had a kid and they came out gay, lesbian, or whatever they are, I would tell them that I support their decision for coming out, that I would be there every step of the way, and tell them how much I love them. ForKing truth is, sexuality is independent of choice. Having a child is like playing a game of lucky dip, you know it’s gonna be human and will need to be fed, clothes and sheltered. However, it’s an entirely different person. You learn that they have their own personality traits, likes/dislikes, interests in certain things and even their looks and physiology is mainly independent of what a parent may expect. Projecting an image or idea unto a child doesn’t work, they’ll be their own person regardless. The difference is whether they hide it from you or not. Regardless of what methods people use they won’t train the gay out of a child, they’ll only effect the way in which it’s expressed. Their kid would just be gay on the down low. There’s evidence of that abundantly. Down low/repressed lgbt people usually always have conservative/religious/homophobic background. That’s why some of them get married or in relationships for the image and do their thing in secret

@dan690523 жыл бұрын
the truth If you are gay or know someone who is, this is important information! Sexual orientation is determined in the womb during fetus development. Various hormones are introduced at specific times to accomplish this .The fetus plays no part in this process. A person is, therefore, born with a predetermined attraction. It is, therefore, not a choice & consequently not a sin & not immoral. It is a natural expression of mammals & found commonplace in nature. Intelligent research in this area clearly explains this process. If you are truly interested in truth, based on knowledge, the book Gay, Straight & the Reason Why by Dr. Simon Levay shows this with numerous research articles. If you want to understand the truth & have respect for yourself & others this book will help. It also has, unlike the bible written over 2000 years by men that had no understanding of science, an extensive bibliography. I strongly recommend the book. Don’t let the religious pull you down to their level of ignorance. Peace

I was put through 13 years of reparative therapy including electronic shock therapy. It was highly abusive. The entire medical profession declassified homosexuality as an illness 50 years ago in 1973. The Dr who organized it was a psychiatrist and President of the Baptist Church here. I was a Baptist Pastor and missionary but told I was not welcome to even attend church, and that I never was. A marriage to my very accepting wife for 51 years did not change a thing. I cared for her with MS for 26 years before she passed.

In fairness to the parents, they probably do love her unconditionally and they are just trying to cure them of what they were being told is a curable disease. Can't really say from personal experience because I was never sent to gay cure therapy, I put myself through it behind my parents' backs. But from what I saw of the other people's parents I don't think they did it because they didn't love their kid. I just saw people who *knew* that the minister spoke for God, *knew* that God wouldn't lie to them and therefore *knew* that God was telling them that their kid had the gay, that the gay was evil and that the gay could be cured. And they would do anything to "help" their kid because they loved them

I’m sorry that the lgbt community finally standing up to the church (all denominations) for the mistreatments that we’ve endured for centuries is offending you. Apparently, so many people had a problem with me being gay (even though I wasn't or even knew what a Lesbian was), the school threatened to expel me. So to prove that I wasn't, the school counselor made me have these sessions with 3 other girls to see how I'd react around them. I didn't even realize how wrong that was until a few months ago and I'm in college. I actually broke down crying when I did cause I also figured out that I'm bi-curious. My niece is 14 she and told she's a lesbian I support her we spoke but I told she's still young wait until she's 18 but we chat because I love her and I am gay when I come out it was hard because I didn't fit in the gay world at that time there were some amount of judgement from gay world as straight world because everytime I went to gay world I got judge because I was just been myself but if it wasn't for lesbians they support me more I told them I was gay but straight and we talk and have drinks even dance the problem is because we r gay we shouldn't change ourselves we r human and people still ask me questions about gay and I forgot to say this the lesbians that help me I meet them 10 yrs later at pride night we talked and notice how we saw things different but understand each other

This is just confusing. I’m a straight catholic and have LGBTQ friends. I treat them like anyone. I’m mean, I’d rather have a happy friend than one that’s miserable and can’t live. If a person identifies as trans or another gender, I’ll respect them and call them with what they feel comfortable with. It’s really not hard. There will in fact be less tension if you just respect everyone. They are just people. Let them live. I feel that it is more of a sin to disrespect and abuse others for God than to be homosexual. This world is such bullshit. Just treat everyone the same, it’s not that hard!

@mnb44144 жыл бұрын
Team VH exactly. God always forgave and wanted us to be happy. Therefore, we should too. And honestly anti-gay riots go more against the Bible than homosexuality ever did so maybe they should actually think about their actions before they embarrass other Christians. I’m sure that hating others for just not liking who they are is a quicker trip to hell than being who you are which isn’t.

I'm asian and I'm a lesbian. There are two christians in my family and I think that they would probably expell me or send me to the "curing" camp if I came out. just two weeks ago, I gathered all the courage I had in my lifetime and came out to my family, came to my surprise everything was so calm, no one's there yelling or banging things, all I received was just a simple sentence, "We support you." This was the first time in my life I felt so relieved, absolutely being myself without holding back and truly shine under the sun. This is literally, the best, best experience I have ever had in my life and I will forever remember this day and the courageous me. Hope you guys, especially the LGBTQ+ people in the wardrobe, you deserve to live a good life without any discrimination. Blessings.
