You have just made a 60 yr man cry! God bless you sir for giving as much as you do on this channel! I lost my grandfather when I was very young and my parents divorced by the time I was 5 so I didn't have these moments. . . I urge anyone who has grandchildren/children to spend this quality time showing them a craft/skill etc. Thank you for this and all your wonderful work!

Kids that have grandparents with skills to share and the patience to share them are truly blessed. I have pictures and videos of my dad holding the Sawzall and my 3 and 4 year old boys pulling the trigger to help Poppy with the renovations. Take the time to share the love of what you do and kids will reflect that love. Thank you for a view into your family.

My son loves beeing with either one of his granddads in their workshops. He helps them, learns, listens and tells me ALL the things they fabricobbled. I kust love it. My dad took me to the workshop when i was 4 and i often was in there, working on something. Often just random stuff. Oh the memories - those were really precious moments.

Best video to date! My dad was a finish carpenter and this brought back all the times he spent teaching me to do the best work I could do. I spent 46 years building and fabricating as a welder and fitter, not a carpenter. Never planned to but at the age of 14 my employer and still my best friend today taught me the basics of welding and it grew from there. I only hope that through the years I have been able to pass on the lesson that these two men passed on to me. Other than Salvation this was the best gift ever given to me. Thank you for the memories and for keeping up the good work.

I can promise you, Scott. when your grandson is a grandfather himself telling his grandchildren about the time his grandpa taught how to tear sandpaper the right way. His epiphany at 1:45 just instantly touched my heart. Moments like these are what remind us and make us remember fondly the old folks who are no longer here. Also certain ones i miss dearly. I love these videos, truly, so much so that shedding tears of pride is nothing i am ashamed of.

My dad wasnt able to teach me things and spend time with me when i was your grandsons age. He would get angry when i did things wrong and didnt know how to communicate with me when i was a kid. Watching this video, you were building an axe. But the real project was imbuing your grandson with skills, practice, and confidence in himself that he will take with him the rest of his life. I could be bitter and jealous because i see that your grandson has something that I never had, something that i sorely missed. But instead im grateful for you and proud of both of you. By not having a connection with my dad or grandpa i know how precious that connection is. Thank you. This is the way familys should be. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 10:48 When I was around 10 years old my friend and I were trying to hook up the wires to the control box of an electric train set. His dad saw us struggling and came over. He showed me how to twist the multi-strand wire into a tighter group and then put it around the screw in the same direction the screw would turn when tightened to make a good connection. Then he said something I have't forgotten over the last 50 or so years: "If it's worth doing it's worth doing right".
