I've adored George from the very first time I heard him sing, but I DO wish he would stop being dishonest about Jon! He repeatedly has made it seem that Jon was "stressed" out from touring/ missed his family, etc. when that's NOT what happened, Jon was pushed out. I'm thinking George sees that as a better answer than "we fired him". They meet in court next month (March 2023), so things will come out then.
@MsEvie157 ай бұрын
Yes, I love BG too. I was a young teen in the 80’s, but I was confused about the situation with Jon. Obviously I’m late to this. Last year BG said that, “We asked him to leave and now he’s suing us”. He also said something like I’m surprised Jon didn’t fight to stay in the band just like he didn’t fight to stay in our relationship”. So what you’re saying makes sense. Jon could have said, “You can’t kick me out. You’re just one person. If every one wants me out then they need to tell me”. So it would make sense that BG told him to leave and the fact that Jon didn’t fight him on it surprised BG.

@@MsEvie15 TBT, It was PK (George's manager Paul Kemsley) who "pulled the plug" on Jon Moss. A recording engineer mentioned to me that PK and Jon never got along, that Jon neither liked, nor trusted PK. When PK took over management of the whole band in September 2018 (he had been just George's personal manger, but the band gave in to George on that matter) he took his opportunity to tell Jon to leave. Jon was NOT HAPPY and COMPLAINED, to NO avail! In 2019 Jon initially filed a court case, in 2021 Jon "saw the writing on the wall" and resigned. Apparently, Roy was irritated with Jon for something, and went along with PK and George in letting him go. Mikey RESISTED, but as he was outnumbered 3 to 1, he finally gave in to the the others. In the past, BOTH George and Jon took the "professional" approach, and put up with each other for DECADES. Though, it was probably HARD for both of them. Jon DID fight to stay in the band, I think PK expected him to just "crawl away" like some small wounded animal. But Jon worked very hard at getting things going in the beginning for the band, and supposedly felt VERY betrayed.
@MsEvie157 ай бұрын
@@gailreed4597 Thank you for sharing it with me. I would feel betrayed if I was Jon too. What happened when they went to court?
@gailreed45977 ай бұрын
@@MsEvie15 The case had been pending for years, because of various motions filed, and was set to finally be heard March 2023. But the week before it was to be heard George (and Culture Club defendants) instead opted to pay Jon the original amount requested in the suit, a little over 2 million dollars. I don't know if Jon has been paid yet, from what I've heard, he HASN'T. In court Jon might have been awarded legal fees in addition, but this was a voluntary settlement, so he DIDN'T get that. The years of legal wranglings left Jon with a monstrous legal bill, so if he does get paid, the lion's share will go to the attorneys. When someone receives a legal settlement (financial reward) there is ALWAYS a legal stipulation attached that you are NOT allowed to discuss or publish the incident in the future, or you lose ALL rights to your settlement. So, we WON'T be hearing Jon's viewpoint on it, George can still speak freely about it, if he wants to.

George, I love you, but why aren't you telling it like it is? 2:15 George's appearance on "The Jonathan Ross Show" aired November 3, 2018. George says Jon is "still part of Culture Club" 2:42, and that "the door is always open." Then why in multiple articles printed in the days leading up to this airing does Jon Moss say he was forced to leave Culture Club? RTE article posted November 2, 2018: "Boy George says Jon Moss is just 'taking a break' from the band to spend some time with his family and insists he wasn't fired." However, on October 29, 2018, in an article posted at Hollywood-dot-com, it was reported that Jon "has been in floods of tears and is beside himself with grief," and that Jon claims he "was fired by Boy George for no apparent reason," and that he is "threatening to take legal action...unless he is immediately reinstated." Jon indeed followed through with that lawsuit, and the above are hardly the words of someone who left willingly. George is not being honest about Jon's departure from Culture Club. Gay Star News reported on October 30, 2018 that Boy George "couldn't bear the thought of traveling with Jon." Clearly something went wrong, George won't level with the public, and co-founder Jon Moss is forever gone from the group he so cherished. What a tragedy.

The dark side of George: he hates his poor financially struggling fans, (2016) as he told me personally on Twitter, and other r horrible things. @lessismore85334 жыл бұрын
Really? Jon is actually suing George.
@hollyjolly20664 жыл бұрын
Yes, he certainly is. From all the articles I've read, it appears that Jon is absolutely devastated at having been forced to leave Culture Club, and was described as being "in floods of tears" over it. Boy George claims Jon left "to spend time with family," but that doesn't add up for me, especially having read articles very close in time to these events (within days) and seeing what both sides had to say. It seems illogical that Jon would have been described as being so distraught and overcome with grief if he had actually left voluntarily. He also would not have instituted legal action for wrongful termination if he had left on his own. I would really love to know what prompted George to force Jon out. I believe Jon feels deeply betrayed, and that he won't ever get over this. I'm doubtful they will ever speak to each other again. How sad.
@pe59124 жыл бұрын
Think about this. Jon Moss allegedly is just taking “time off to spend more time with his kids” . What happens next? The band are suddenly called Boy George and Culture Club on their tour. What does that tell you about things?
@hollyjolly20664 жыл бұрын
@@pe5912 Yes, and why hasn't Jon Moss returned in all this time? He still wants to "spend time with family?" It's been more than 18 solid months! Jon also left - or was forced to leave - just days before the group was to embark on a lucrative tour in Europe. How odd the timing! This is exactly when Jon suddenly feels he misses his children most and must be with them - and he decides to abandon the group? Very suspicious. I also find it strange that Boy George says "the door is always open." That's a suspicious phrase. It's as if to imply that something bad happened, but...the door is always open. Who would say that sort of thing if no conflict had occurred? Well, if the door is open, why hasn't Jon walked through it again? Finally, George's refusal to directly address Jon's absence in all the time since then is disturbing. From all I have read, George will shut down any conversation regarding Jon when fans bring him up, and even block people on Twitter. Why is this so taboo with George? What is he hiding? I've always loved Boy George - and only just learned who Jon Moss was last fall - but I CANNOT respect what George is doing with regard to Jon, and I cannot respect the lack of honesty on George's part to the public.
