What's funny is Kevin speaks in a manner that in Scotland might be considered a bit on the posh side. If Kevin started using Scottish slang the subtitler would probably just give up and go home after about a minute.

I'm from America and I think you just need to get use to the variations in accents in the UK and Ireland. I've watched a lot of shows from there and have gotten use to the accents, slang and different word choices. Example: Car park is a parking lot. Kevin's accent is really heavy, but I can understand him. He knows that some people have trouble understanding him. The first time that I saw him was on Would I lie to you with his renting a horse story. There he mentioned the language barrier because "it was 2 Bulgarian guys and 2 Scottish guys trying to speak English". Plus have you ever heard his fake English accent? Maybe he should try the acting thing. Accents are supposed to be the hardest thing to do.
