SuperM was created by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records in the U.S. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the absolute best from SM Entertainment's most popular groups. Baekhyun (The guy with the pink hair) who is one of the best vocalist in the industry and Kai who is one of the top 2 dancers in the industry are from EXO; Taemin (The guy with the blond hair) is the other top dancer in the industry with one of the most well respected solo careers and he is a member of the legendary group SHINee; Teayong is known for his dancing and rapping and Mark is the main rapper from NCT-127/NCT-U (Mark is Korean-Canadian, so he is the fluent English speaker of the group.); and Ten is the main dancer and lead vocalist and Lucas is a rapper and visual of NCT-U/WayV. (WayV is the Chinese sub-unit of NCT, so not only does Ten and Lucas speak Korean and English, but they also speak Mandarin. Lucas also speaks Cantonese because he is from Hong Kong and a little Thai because his mom is Thai. Ten also speaks Thai because he is from Thailand.) SuperM are considered the Avengers of Kpop because the group is so multi-talented, with some of the most influential idols in the industry, representing multiple nationalities and Kpop generations, who are poised to take over the world. The group debuted in the U.S. so that is why the song is mostly in English because it is meant to be their foyer into the U.S. music market. Beakhyun has been chosen as the leader of SuperM. (Baekhyun is also the oldest member at 27 and Mark is the youngest at 20.) However, Taemin is the one with the most seniority in the group. Taemin is only 26 years old, but he debuted 4-10 years before any of the other members of SuperM. Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 when he was 14 years old so he is a super senior member of the group. So, as part of the hierarchy of respect, Taemin is the one everyone looks up to. Which is rightfully so, because Taimin has earned the reputation as one of the TOP dancers and solo performers in the industry, as well as a member of one of the best Kpop groups, SHINee. Which, might be why Taemin was chosen to play such a major role within the group, and why we have seen him prominently featured in almost everything to do with SuperM. It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big super group. I think the concept of the group all stems from EXO's concept and stroyline. The members of EXO are all aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baeknyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them. However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other member. So I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, at least their part of the concept is tied to EXOs storyline. I think maybe SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc. But whatever SuperM's storyline ends up being, I think its all folded into EXO's larger concept and storyline, because, as members of EXO,, everything Kai and Baekhyun does ties back into EXO's story somehow. And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being Superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that NCT and WayV have recently came out with songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs was called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute details together to build an epic adventure for fans. It has been speculated that SM may have been planning to create SuperM for years and songs such as "Superhuman," "Take Off" and "New Heros," for example, may have been specifically used to create a connection between NCT/WayV and SuperM and may, in the future, connect the storylines in those MVs to the story in SuperM. As you may know, SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superhero's stories when they come together to form The Avengers. Also, something to note is that SHINee's fan color is aqua blue/ green and NCT/WayV's color is green and -- although EXO's fan color isn't red -- red plays a big part in Exo's storyline (representing the Red Force). So that might explain some of the colors we are seeing in their teaser videos and everything leading up to this debut. One reason for the different colors might be a reference to those colors foreshadowing something within the story and it also might be a nod to their groups, etc.

This is their title track of their self-titled debut extended play 1st mini album and according to the lyrics, the title’s a combination of the words jumping + popping = jopping and the “M” stands for Matrix/Master. *From what I could see in the MV, Baekhyun & Kai are the only ones it seems who display their superpowers of teleportation & light.* The song was produced by an english duo of a British Production called LDN Noise who’s also worked on many different tracks for groups; such as: SHINee, EXO, NCT and WayV. Somehow, however it was leaked on Oct 1st 2019 through Weibo, which spread to KZbin & Twitter where requests for take down were immediately issued. The music video displays Taemin on a motorcycle, Mark & Taeyong in cars, Ten & Lucas with a tank, Kai and Baekhyun with a helicopter. They are the Kpop Avengers (Superheroes of Kpop); *From what I could see in the MV, Baekhyun & Kai seem to be the only ones that actually display their superpowers of teleportation and light.* The one thing I really isn’t a big fan of is how our guys have to be forced to compensate for most of the western audience to do their best in singing & rapping in english knowing some of them aren’t fluent in english which is probably why they had to highlight/autotune abit more of some of the members voices but they all killed it in my book (You still need to read subs because it’s not 100% in english). To get to know SuperM and to better understand the story and concept behind "Jopping" you should really watch the behind the sense/making of video called "SuperM: The Story of Jopping." Its an official video on SuperM's KZbin channel. its one of the best behind the sense Kpop shooting videos I have watched and it really helps to explain the concept and story behind the song and the group. Its well worth the 30-plus minute video. Please check it out, even if you don't react to it. :D If you follow EXO's concept and storyline even a little, you would know that SM doesn't do anything halfway. When they come up with a concept for a group they go all in and even the most minute of details are used to tell that story. That is why SM Entertainment is one of the big 3 entertainment companies in Korea and around the world and it's why it commands the top spot. SuperM is specifically designed to try to help SM grab even more of the U.S. market. That is why their debut and all of their recent and upcoming promotions are focused in the U.S. If you notice, SuperM starts with S and ends with M -- SM.

SuperM is a new collaboration Korean-Chinese boy group under SM Entertainment that consists of seven goofy shy outgoing handsomely sexy sweet-hearted young men that are from four different male groups such as SHINee, EXO, NCT, and NCT’s WayV. They made their US Debut on October 4th 2019. I also know taemin will be enlisting the following year and about the tour in Feb 2020 since Baekhyun, Chen and Chanyeol will be enlisting within this upcoming year which leaves maknae line Kai and Sehun unless they decide to enlist early.

i keep wondering why in every reaction i've watched, everyone always just mehs at taemin. like he's the best dancer in kpop? :/ biased or not, i think he deserves to be watched... it ain't even me against you, its just a bunch of reactors. always talking over or looking away at taemin's parts. i hope the reactions get better for him
