I absolutely loved Boy Kills World. Watched it yesterday with my best friend who I consider a brother. We both really enjoyed how the film doesn't take itself too seriously. The Action always felt intentional, the gore has us cringing just enough. Something that surprised us both was the ending. The fact that it turned out to focus on the sibling relationship really warmed our hearts. And the fact that its filmed entirely in our country and city, Cape Town, South Africa, is just the cherry on the cake. We even know some of the people who played some of the smaller roles. There are certain parts of the plot that i do have some critics for. However, the experience as a whole was amazing.

I was thinking the title reminds me of Kill Bill more than boy meets world. Funnily Pennywise’s actor in this movie’s real name is BILL. His family is so talented from Stellan Skarsgård in the recent 2 Dune movies to Alexander Skårsgard in Infinity Pool, Godzilla Vs Kong & other stuff. Bill is starting to make a name for himself as well, away from the awful IT movies, with John Wick Chapter 4, that one scene in deadpool 2, the crow & now this. He’s also starting to get the Chris Hemmsworth treatment when they’d make sure to make every one of his movies especially the trailers & advertisements to focus specific on his torso. Now Bill is having the same treatment with this & The Crow highly emphasizing his torso

Along with Bill Skårsgard being deaf & mute, reminding me of when The Bride was shot while pregnant & every time anyone said her name it was bleeped) meaning only they can hear her name & we only hear the bleep until the second movie similar to him having the inner monologue that only he can hear along with the viewers. Like Yayan Ruhi(y)an. The "yan" is used again. Or Entis Sutisna, the "tis" is also used again. Those kind of names are more traditional, and a unique characteristics to Sundanese people. ps: I met Mr. Yayan Ruhian years ago at my college when he was promoting The Raid, we had a small talk. @@NinjapowerMS Hard disagree on that. I don’t hate Hardcore Henry, but it really doesn’t have much going for it besides its singular gimmick. @windowsVD5 ай бұрын
@@NinjapowerMS Yes, but it wasn't enough to sustain the movie for me. My problem with Hardcore Henry isn't the gimmick itself, it's that the film severely overestimates how much its gimmick elevates the film. It single-handedly made me realize that an action scene has to be good in third person first, or otherwise the first person gimmick isn't going to add much, if anything. Most of the action in Hardcore Henry is very mid in my opinion, and don't look like they'd be very good in third person either, which is probably why it was pretty much all pretty forgettable. It essentially felt like I was watching mostly C grade action scenes for the entire first 2 acts of the film, but now in FIRST PERSON. The problem is, a C grade action scene is still more or less going to be a C grade action scene even when you put it in first person. The only exception is the rooftop climactic sequence, which was admittedly pretty cool, and almost makes the film worth watching. The deaf and mute angle isn't the entire gimmick of Boy Kills World, it's just one gimmick but the other elements of the movie don't directly depend on it, unlike Hardcore Henry where it has its one and only selling point, which influences almost every other cog in the film.

how can someone not have an inner monologue!? That blows my mind. Love Jon Benjamin, his voice over was perfect. The Dude with the beard that he couldn't read his lips so he just "heard" complete gibberish. Hilarious running joke.

I’ve been looking forward to this one since I first heard about preproduction in late 2021. I watched it last night on the early premiere and LOVED it. Admittedly, I am a huge fan of Bill Skarsgard and love that man dearly. Cannot imagine anyone else playing this role as well as he did. I felt all the emotions when he had those heart string tugging scenes. He gave a phenomenal performance! The movie was a damn fun time! ❤❤❤

I was pleasantly surprised by this, and I checked it out today. A solid 7/10 action flick! Bill Skarsgard was great in his role, and overall, the cast was great, Koji's character annoyed me a little and the story for the most part, was just generic/simple but it did not need to be anything else, if you saw the trailer or just a poster of the movie you know exactly what you getting yourself in to and you get what you came for and a bit more! So yeah, I did not expect it to be as good as it was. It was even emotional at parts for an action film.

No bullshit, there are those people, the red flag would be the also suffer from word vomit! Where they say what is EXACTLY on their mind at that moment in time, no filter! We all know these people, in Bill Skar\sgård case though, since he’s deaf/mute, he can’t do that , hence why he chose and has Archer in his head speaking for him! Otherwise, I’m sure he’s be the wisecracking smartass with quick quibs like Deadpool or Spider-Man! Lol

I really like this movie. The concept of the inner monologue, and it being Archer, was a great choice. It let the comedy be there and still let the action be the action... well except for sweaty palms... I lost it.

Sharlto Copley is such an awesome actor who has a nose for films that are absolutely awesome action spectacles. God it bums me out the director of Hardcore Henry hasn't done any new first person action films in a while. Speaking of which anyone who loves Hardcore Henry should look up the music video 'False Alarm' that he directed. It's stellar.

I loved this movie and I can’t wait till it comes out on streaming (and if anyone I know wants to go see it then I’ll probably go with them to see it again) I was a little bit surprised to find that most of the scenes in the movie were in the trailer, which made the movie feel a bit quick but I still had so much fun. I think it’s really sad that they didn’t advertise it very well though, because there’s almost no one talking about it.

Sadly, the only one out of those that has delivered solid box office numbers is Dune 2. With so many strong low to mid-budget movies underperforming or straight up bombing, it does seem like theaters are increasingly becoming the place for big budget franchise movies and not much else.
