Boy Oh Boy! Let's make a background page! [Make a Collection Leanne Wagner-2023].

Today I am being inspired by implied texture and grunge! As we delve into the world of graffiti down under in Australia, I create a masculine background. In my self-imposed challenge to create my own scrapbook collection, I begin my second background layout for the masculine collection mixed media project! I show you what I selected, the colours, mediums and tools which I used to develop this masculine-style background paper. I draw inspiration from the street artist, A*C Alto Contraste and add motif elements which complement my other selected collection papers (*See Collection video number 1. • Make your own Scrapboo... ). You will learn how to create your own homemade background scrapbook paper, which can help you use up your scrapbook/art supplies and potentially save your budget. It's an easy process, to develop your own collection kit supplies, selecting materials/media from your scrapbook/art stash and connecting the mood and feel of the products within your own handmade creations.

Book: Stencil Republic, published in 2012 (a street artist text with stencils).
Watercolour paint.
Masking fluid.
Watercolour paper 300gsm.
Paint brushes.

Wonderful! Make sure that your base cardstock is a heavy and good quality cardstock for watercolour and mixed media usage. Do some small samples first to test it out, try not to apply the masking fluid too thickly, it needs a thin application. Make sure that you wash your brush as soon as your finish with it, as the fluid sets to rubber and ruins your brush. Watch a few videos for tips on using masking fluid, and to help with techniques.
