Could y'all please just wait til my kid gets his eagle before completely sinking the ship? We asked to be a part of the Boy Scouts based on the legacy they created, we didn't ask to be a part of your mission to turn it into something else

I think they made a mistake when they went co-ed. They already had the Co-ed program in the Ventures, they should have revamped that program to allow younger girls and boys, to be able to pursue an Eagle Rank. Which in actuality is what the push for Co-ed was about, that girls wanted to be able to earn Eagle, which is more prestigous in society than the GSA Gold award.

That's exactly why I decided my kid would not go.

I hope scouts ends soon too. Time we start a new program like what this used to be before going woke.

What is wrong other than having gender exclusive scouting programs? Have one for boys, one for girls, and a coed if desired.

Because the "enlightened" (lefty), woke powers that be want it to be about trans and the gender-confused.

This is a opportunity lost, should have broadcast Roger Krone's discussion instead. History of the organization is important and a story that should be told, like BP's sister was key to starting a youth program for girls, the cooperation with Campfire Girls (started be BSA's founders wives) since 1910s, women leaders have been around since 1930's, Coed Explorers and Coed camp staff being a thing for over 50 years, and Scouting/USA was the branding in the late 1970s, etc, etc. Whoever is running the PR on this rollout, isn't doing a outstanding job. Again, opportunity lost.

I was involved with scouting as a kid and earned eagle. I won't associate with scouting now, and neither will my children.

This is rebranding with a logo change. Uniforms currently have the "BSA" abbreviation and above the pocket many people in the community do not recognize what that is. I look forward to new uniforms displaying the "Scouting America" brand rather than an abbreviation. What information sources are representing this rebranding as a problem? Can someone help me understand what dire outcome can result from an updated logo? Most organizations a update their logo much more frequently than this one. Many major companies have adjusted their branding in recent years. Please remember to follow the Scout Oath and Scout Law in all communications.

As an older eagle scout who has traveled and seen scouting around the globe, I am glad to see the American scouting program moving forward to catch up with the rest of the Western world's scouting programs. Hoping to see this continue into the future and see the program evolve as it acknowledges the actual science that boys and girls work and grow better together more than apart.

Will the girl scouts be changing their name too?
@fulhamdave12174 ай бұрын
The comments below are very familiar to when UK Scouting changed to include girls back in the 1990's. It is now very normal to have mixed troops. I was a scout leader back then and had my reservations but looking back now I do wonder what all the fuss was about, it's just normal. It is also normal that people don't like change but change sometimes has to happen. Scouting is a force for good and in time it will be looked back on as welcome and a progressive move. By the way, the girls movement (The Guides) are still today just as successful.

I think "Scouts BSA" is a clunky name and needs to be shortened officially to just "Scouts" -- Why retain "BSA" (an abbreviated remnant of the former name of the national org) as part of the name of one of its two premier programs?
@stevecochrane87995 ай бұрын
I'm more concerned about boys not having something of their own. Boys and girls are different and need to have something were they can develop on their own.
@jawarholol46515 ай бұрын
Because "Boys" was the whole point to the program
