the origin for this interview, according to Boyd, was in a proposed book about extreme political figures in America - he wrote to plenty of figures (like Farrakhan) hoping to interview them but only Metzger responded.

I think Louis Farrakhan is a salesman and a phony. He tells his community and followers what they want to hear, while he wears silk suits and rides around in a chaffeur-driven Rolls-Royce. Mainstream Islam has rejected that Lewis Farrakhan's _Nation of Islam_ organisation is a legitimate branch of the Muslim faith. That's a fact. Check it out.

Incorrect. The precedents for "(taking) the stage with electronic equipment and turntables" comes from a long line of experimental artists and composers, many of them academics. I suppose since this stuff is so unpopular it might be understood as some kind of misanthropic statement or other, but still. Levay expressed some sympathy for fascist asthetics, but he just talked about the asthetics. Who knows. Also, the idea that industrial music is "white" makes since only if you ignore it's roots in funk music. Droning abrasiveness is just a post-punk interpretation of James Brown's vamping. No funk, no disco, no industrial.

A lot of Dicso records were produced in Sweden. Donna Summer, despite being a black American woman, is really more of a European artist than an American one. Swedish disco records, which obviously borrow from black American funk records, were innovative because they used lots of trancey synths. That's really the breakthrough that opened the way for techno and industrial music. And lots of industrial artists use disco beats.
