I have a Boyd’s Heritage on a Tikka T3 Lite, .308. The stock w/pillar bedding fits so tight that my gun smith said it didn’t need any more bedding. Great stock.
@Bat-FoolСағат бұрын
Hey buddy, I don't expect you to know this but will that stock fit a Tikka t3x roughtech? I asked this because the Tikka t3x roughtech has a slightly heavier barrel. profile.
@DM-w5oСағат бұрын
@ Check Boyd’s website. They are very specific on fitment. Choose a stock style and enter your exact rifle nomenclature and it will tell you whether or not it fits. I think also, you can enter the rifle nomenclature and the program will tell you what, if any, stock will fit. Their telephone reps are also very helpful. I have Boyd’s on a 10/22 and a CZ 457.
@DM-w5oСағат бұрын
@ Also, you can specify barrel profile. My 10/22 has a .92 Shaw barrel on it.

I picked up a Boyds Platinum last year to replace the tupperware on my Ruger American Predator 6.5CM. I went with the pepper laminate color and sprung for the laser checkering ( which is suprisingly nice and sharp for being laser engraved as opposed to machine or hand cut) as well as the black fore end and grip cap and pillar bedding. It was the first Boyds stock I have ever owned and I have been really happy with it. It did add a little over a half pound in weight compared to the cheap plastic factory stock but it also balanced the rifle much better. Whereas the factory stock leaves a RA Predator very front heavy, with the Boyds stock on it the balance point is now right at the front of the magazine. All in all I couldn't be happier with it and it takes away all of the cheap feeling of a RA with the factory stock.

I am about to order one for a Remington 788 .30-30… going to heed your advice here…pillar bedding, black forend tip and pistol grip cap. M color of choice still up in the air. Love this channel.

CCW-MFG manufactures bottom metal for a handful of rifles that pairs really well with these stocks, has some that support AI mag conversions. You guys should take a look. I have a Boyd’s Prairie Hunter on a savage 110 in 6.5 creedmoor. Couldn’t be happier. It’s reasonably light, stiffer than poly stocks, and with an acra glass job it shoots 3/4 MOA with 129 SST hand loads without too much effort in load development.

My Remington 30-06 ADL, which was my first rifle that my parents got me 27 years ago shoots amazing with a Boyd's Heritage Stock, Timney 2 stage trigger, pillar and glass bedded. It still weighs under 10 pounds even with all the glass bedding work. Topped with a 3-18×50 G3 Monstrum Tactical scope, which I would rather have an Element 2-16x50, but my scope works fine. It shoots absolutely amazing with sub half inch groups and better. 🇺🇸

I’m using it on my Russian Mosa and I’ve got the gray. It’s called pepper and it’s the classic stock like what you’ve got on the Creedmoor and I love it. I’m shooting a three-quarter inch group with it at 100 yards and that’s due to the old regular military surplus stock just beat the tar out with that metal butt plate. It felt like I shot a 300 win mag after about two boxes.
@ethancuny39137 күн бұрын
And it reduced the recoil a lot and it’s more comfortable to shoot. It’s easier for other people to shoot and it’s just overall a nice hunting rifle. I’ve taken two deer deer with it and I’ve taken a coyote with it. I would love to see Gavin do something with that because it’s like one of those cartridges it’s kind of round upon because it is a Russian cartridge but it does have potential, I do a lot of reloading for you. It’s an interesting cartridge and it has close to the same same ballistics as like a 30 Ott six but I shoot 311 diameter bullets out of it because that’s what shoots really accurate. I’ve tried 308 bullets I’ve tried just regular standard round. You can pick up off the shelf if you can find them and they’re usually 150 or 180 bulletand 180 bullets and introducing new shooters don’t want a lot of recoil

It would really be cool to see Gavin do something with a Moen because it really makes them more functional and organ ergonomically better. They are fun to shoot and then if you got a recoil pad, it really help

I put an At One on a 77/44 which is a good stock for the shooting bench but completely useless for a walking around rifle. It did tighten up the groups a bit with that rifle. I also had a CZ 452 American that really didn't shoot well. Unheard of for those rifles. I put it in a Boyd's Pro Varminter stock and it's shooting clover leafs at 50 yards. I would definitely get pillar bedding on my next one.

Returning to zero? An even mediocre stock should have absolutely no effect 5:49 on zero. I swap between competition chassis and hunting stocks on several rifles all the time. The zero never changes. I do make a minor adjustment for the new projectile. But I can write down the adjustment and reverse it when swapping back. Works all the time.

Looks like it´s sized for a toy gun, same as the AT. To short, small and flimsy. Much better options out there.
@guyminer31686 күн бұрын
Well, you can order it with a longer length of pull. Can be sized for a long action. This one is thick enough to easily accept the Bergara's varmint diameter barrel. It's not particularly petite. Flimsy? Not at all. I'd think it's stronger than most or all regular walnut stocks. I've had a couple of Model 70's with really nice heavy walnut. The 375 did have a larger, heavier stock, which was welcome.

@@guyminer3168 You can order an AT stock with longer length of pull? That would be a start, but it´s also the overall dimensions that are small, the pistolgrip is not sized for larger hands. I like the look of the stock though.
