@@satsukikorin of course mate, PNF stands for Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation
@julieturner76063 жыл бұрын
More PNF info from the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3273886/. “Pre-contraction stretching involves a contraction of the muscle being stretched or its antagonist before stretching. The most common type of pre-contraction stretching is proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching. There are several different types of PNF stretching (Table 1) including “contract relax” (C-R), “hold relax” (H-R), and “contract-relax agonist contract” (CRAC); these are generally performed by having the patient or client contract the muscle being used during the technique at 75 to 100% of maximal contraction, holding for 10 seconds, and then relaxing. Resistance can be provided by a partner or with an elastic band or strap (Figure 4).”

That type of stretch is either called contract/relax or PNF stretching. To take stretch to deep stretch, then contract the muscle for up to 10sec or so then relax. It plays off of the motor neurons and the reflexes of the nervous system. This is what we use in Massage Therapy a lot.

7:40 You are describing one PNF stretching technique called 'contract-relax'. PNF = proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. 3 steps for a hamstring stretch: 1. passively flex hip joint to end of range with help of instructor, band, towel. 2. hold at extreme end of range for 10-20 seconds, giving a strong stretch to hamstrings. 3. lastly, actively extend hip joint back towards floor using glutes and hams.

PNF stretching is the resistance under tension. Idea is that u contracting against the stretch sends signals to your muscle to relax, so when you stop pushing against the stretch your muscle lengthens to avoid injury

The name for the stretch where you take it to the point of max stretch , relax and resist against presure it is PNF Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation If I remember correctly. Use to use it back in my martial arts days. It's designed basically to bypass the bodies safety warning which make your muscles fire when working to maximum stretch. Best done with a partner you trust and not someone who will jump on your legs. Trust me. Great video so watch, you two are great together.

PNF stretching. Proprioceptive neuro muscular facilitation. hold for about five seconds under tension, relax. Take it further and repeat about 4 times. Usually used in fitness to increase flexibility of a weak muscle group. Most often hamstrings. Athletes (fighters) tends to be groin and adductors (splits and ting).

It's called reciprocal inhibition when one muscle stretched and the other relaxes. Like when you stretch your pectorals the muscles in your back ie lats and rear delts will relax
