it's wild, on IG/TikTok a lot of the comments are critical of Zane for talking too much, when the entire reason so many artists love talking to him and are willing to be so much more open and vulnerable than usual is because they appreciate the casual, conversational dynamic of his interviews vs the series of dumb questions they get from most other hosts

Phoebe’s hoodie is everything. I fell in love to those lyrics a decade ago. They told me to put my arm around her waist when they played it live. Then it was 4 and a half years later. The happiness was often, the firsts were many, the ending was sad. I’m still glad it happened. I hope to see you play live someday.

I feel like Zane's ideal interview would be listening back to his own clips from past interviews and talking about what he meant, what he was thinking when he said it, and why he might have said that based on past experiences. That said, I like him haha. But I wish this interview was more focused on the songs rather than their relationships or their experience of being boygenius.

i think because their still pretty new, i guess people are just trying to figure out what base their music is lying on and how they got to come together to make the music that they did before truly understanding how the songs were made. but i get the desire to know the stories behind the songs too.
