TBH level 1 critical isn't as hard as being under leveled in the other modes because the Zero EXP ability also gives a damage buff to Sora.

​Most of the reason Crit Level 1 in KH2 isn't as insane as it could be is because of the devs expert placement of damage floors. A lot of the bosses and enemies have damage floors higher than a Level 1 Sora's stats and will secretly boost Sora's power up to that point to always give him meaningful damage, something that wasn't seen since until 3's ReMind DLC with the superbosses

@@Agent_Biyan But there isn't such a thing in Kh2. There is a minimum amount of damage you will do to ennemies, which means you never will do chip damage. But that's not related to the Exp Zero ability. There are buffs related to Exp Zero in Kh1, Birth by Sleep and maybe others, but Kh2 just doesn't have that. The ability truly just stop giving you exp.

So for anyone confused why the checkpointing is so dumb in this game sometimes, it's because the game will put you back into the last room that you entered before the encounter you died in. The intention is so you can update your abilites and such. The issue comes from when there's a long strech without a safe spot, so you get the utter bullshit checkpointing before the Demyx fight. The other issue is that it loads you back to when you first entered that room, which means you have to go back and re-equip all of your stuff. We don't get the option to just retry a fight until Birth By Sleep, and it's really stupid that they never added it back to the older games.

It's honestly a ton of fun. It wouldn't be a very original experience, but it would be the best way to experience it

One cool thing to note is that the different nobodies you fight across the world are based off of different Organisation members like snipers for Xigbar, card minigame for Luxord, etc. The ones that blocked off Donald and Goofy before the Roxas fight just also happen to duel wield and have the same "The end" minigame with the command menu.

The pure joy I hear from her brings back SO many nostalgic memories, to the point it's making me remember that "1st playthrough" feeling, which is basically the 'high' every gamer hopes for but will never feel again no matter how many times they replay their favorite games. That mixed with hearing someone enjoy something I love to this degree has made me cry several times.

sorry for a THIRD comment, but i need to gush just once before i finally shut up. it makes me really happy to see people engaging so genuinely and excitedly with kingdom hearts. the franchise is a bit of a punching bag, both within the fanbase and outside of it, and seeing your girlfriend so eager about everything makes me smile like crazy. watching her slowly piece together the plot of the opening tutorial, all while getting attached to roxas, and then the final gut punch of him having to give up his existence... AAH!!! THAT'S *IT!* THAT'S KINGDOM HEARTS TO ME!!! it's getting swept up in the chaos, while seeing the earnestness and connecting with the emotions at its core. all the other stuff--- the lore, the minuet plot details--- that's not what matters. its the themes of friendship and connection. its getting attached to the characters, feeling their plight, and choosing that you want to save them. and i think she genuinely does that and understands it. it just makes me really happy.

I think you should take herthough the entire collection (cutscene compilations too) if she's up for it 'cause it seems to me from the videos like she's enjoying the KH original story quite a bit and going from just 1 and 2 to 3 is genuine torture
