At last, Trax get some praise!

I've played this game through about 4 times in the past week... It's a beauty!

GameBoyle Its biggest flaw might be its frequent slowdown u_u But beside that, it's truly a hidden gem.
@GameBoyle10 жыл бұрын
It does slow down a little, but I really don't think it's that much of an issue to really frustrate me like the slow down in say Nemesis does. It's a shame it never got a sequel on a console less hindered by hardware :(

I've seen the box for this a hundred times, but never seen gameplay of it. Now I have another GameBoy game to find! Thanks Boyo!
@GameBoyle10 жыл бұрын
I'd done the same, I saw it was on the list of games to buy, but it wasn't until I realized it was a HAL Labs game that I really took an interest! No worries squire, glad to spread the good word!

Glad to see some love for Trax! I would totally like to see him as an assist trophy, and maybe get a sequel on the switch/new 3ds, using the second analogue stick to aim.

Agreed man, I'm sad the game never got a sequel! Oh well, now that HAL are done with Box Boy, we can live in hope I guess! Thanks for watching :)

Looks like another solid release by Hal Labs. Personally, I don't mind a game which is regarded as "Too easy" as there are plenty of games out there that could be considered "Too difficult". I like to have a choice depending on my mood :) Great video as usual Mat!

One of my rarest finds from a run-down video store, Trax is a Game Boy gem I keep coming back to, again and again.
@r100curtaincall5 жыл бұрын
Frank Ingrati funny! That’s exactly how i got my copy back in the day! As a kid at a bargain bin in a closing down store. On gem amongst countless worthless barbie games and similar. The only copy of it.

I was happy to snag it CIB myself before the Game Boy 'boom' happened. I love this game to pieces and even if I ever got rid of the collection, this one would stay! Thanks for watching both and sorry for the late reply!

Finally found time to catch up on some vids! This looks ace! I always thought it was a racer or something! I'll be adding this one to my set sooner rather than later :). Cheers for the shoutout mate, appreciated :)

It's a bloody good game, I did look at getting myself a Japanese copy after completing it, then realized my advice to look for one of those was way off, that's an expensive game in Japan from the looks of eBay...

I stopped by my game store today and it was between Darkwing Duck and Trax for the Gameboy. I’ll pick up Trax tomorrow if it’s still there. Looks pretty fun.

Both are pretty good games, but man, I love Trax... Let me know what you think if you get it & thanks for watching :)

YES! Yes! I played this on my monster Xbox emulator then after first level went right to eBay to buy the real cart. An awesome, fun, little easy romp thru of a gem....what Gameboy was meant to be back then. Great review! So many unknown GB games I've bought past year: This, Trip World, Out of Gas, Stop That Roach, Puzzled, Nail N' Scale, Catrap, Chalvo 55, Noobow, GO! GO! Tank, Dexterity, Cool Ball, Monster Max, Mole Mania, Bubble Ghost--> list goes on, and on! Where were these games when I was a kid looking in stores??
@GameBoyle4 жыл бұрын
Tell me about it! Fortunately I was lucky enough to have an older brother who made sure I had solid Nintendo titles under the tree at Christmas, but I didn't discover any of the third party 'good stuff' until I started going for the full set! Cheers for watching Erik and sorry about the late reply!

I tried to look for this game at two stores that sell old video games and other stuff that is called, "The Exchange" and Cash in Culture, but unfortunately, none of the stores have a physical copy in stock. So instead, I have bought the game on Amazon.com. And when I first saw a video on this game on KZbin, I wanted to play it so badly. but at least I'm going to be getting it today! :D I really can't wait to play it!

Let me know what you think when it arrives Alex, I love this game! Thanks for watching / the comments and hope you enjoy the game!

Wow! This game is pretty fun! :D And you were right, the final boss is pretty tough. But after a couple of tries and some patience, I managed to beat it. And this game even has some memorable enemies and bosses too. But it's just too bad that not many people remember this game. :/ But still this is a fun game!

Just gotta spread the word Alex! I'm just gutted the game never got a sequel! Hope you keep enjoying it the way I have!

again looks very fun shame a lot of these games seem to be easy. i think the one direction turret movement could well be annoying to start but add some extra thought once you get going in a good way
@GameBoyle10 жыл бұрын
Honestly, it just becomes second nature once you've played it a while. But trust me Ollie, it's fun because it's easy, it's a simple game that you'll pick up and play again because there's no real stress involved...

Yeah that's my kind of game.

It's like Sonic Chaos on the Master System for me, a lot of people under rate that game because it's easy, but that's always what I play when I want a quick burst of Sonic :)

yeah sometimes i love a little run of something easy.

If I hear HAL Laboratory I only think of the pinnacle that is Revenge of the Gators. Fucking love that game. Kirby's Pinball is cool aswell, but I find it more frustrating, especially the bounce mechanic. Never seems to work in my favour.
@GameBoyle9 жыл бұрын
Ryuma King Kirby's Pinball takes some getting used to, but you're totally right, Revenge of the Gator is without a shadow of a doubt, one of HAL's best outputs! Thanks for watching as always :)

+Isidro Montes Just keep trying man, it's not too rare to be honest! I got mine for £12.99 CIB about two years ago, but even so recently as 3/4 months ago I've seen carts go as low as £2.99 BIN. Let me know whatcha think when you get it :)

Its a great early original Gameboy game. Those saying that its too easy, try completing it without rotating or breaking the speedrun record.

You've got the 'u' and the 'm' in Shmup backwards, I think. Which makes the word way too cute, almost as cute as "Charge Junky Tank!". XD Another excellent review, with a lot of attention paid to doing your homework before turning on the camera it seems. Hope you keep these up and maybe branch to some other consoles you're interested in.
@roccaturi10 жыл бұрын
I love this game by the way! A quality shmup for any console will do it, but I have a real soft spot for well executed shooters on resource-limited hardware. Trax, Judgement Silversword, and Recca are just too cool for school.
@GameBoyle10 жыл бұрын
Brian Burnley Haha it's a bad habit, I used to always call them Shumps when I was a kid because I misread it in Nintendo Magazine System (the British Nintendo Power) and I guess it stuck, I'll adjust the description, so thanks for the heads up :) Chances are I'll still end up saying it haha! I intend keeping them up as long I can haha :) I still need to do a channel trailer, but at the moment I'm releasing one every Friday :) As for other consoles, well we'll see what the future holds! I'm concentrating on a full Gameboy collection at the moment, so it's dominating a lot of my time, but I do have a lot of love for the SNES, NES and a growing love of the Master System's limitations, so we'll see :) Cheers for the kind words sir, if you haven't already, please subscribe & I hope to keep them up to your expectations :)
