Me and my younger brother split the cost of this game back in 1994 and got it the last week of summer vacation. I was 9 at the time. Man. Such a good game. I didn't get the tree house as my first ending but when I discovered after I beat the main title that you could go from the kettle to the serbert section, that blew my mind. Got all the treasures back then without a guide. I think I beat the main title back around November that year (folks restriced game time, had to read J'aime Lire french books to get game time...) We were in french immersion. I never knew I could get a planetw back then. Only though the mansion was the best prize.

I must have been about the same age when I got it Rez and I don't know how I figured out all the treasure locations without the internet either lol... I mainly played the Game Boy on road trips, I think it wasn't until Pokémon that the GB became my main console for a few years (as I can prove with my glasses lol...)! Great video. I've always thought the Wario Land handheld games were some of Nintendo's best platformers. Wario Land 2 is one of those games that got a normal Game Boy and Game Boy Color release although I'm unsure if there's any difference other than color.

@@GameBoyle Don't feel bad. I played the first and second title when they came out. I should have gotten the 2nd title as my first gameboy color game instead of that conker's gameboy color title. (Had a weird thing with either original gameboy save mode or gameboy color save mode but not both versions could be played at the same time). Like it had an original gameboy build on the title and then it also had a gameboy color only mode as well if you know what I mean. Besides wario land 2 with the branching paths would have been a way better bang for my buck than rare's conker on the GBC (before conker was all on a bender).

Great review! This is also one of my favorite games on the game boy, along with Mega Mans IV & V. I even ended up recreating a few of the game's levels in Mario Maker.

Besides collecting all the treasure, I always used the debug cheat of pausing the game and pushing select 16 times, in order to give myself 999 coins at the end of each stage to make sure I had enough for the Planet. I used this trick as well to get myself back to safe ground whenever I became Small Wario ;-)

Great review. I had Super Mario Land 2 and loved it when I was a kid but one day my friend "found" a cart of Wariorland in his coat pocket and he gave it to me as he didn't have a gameboy. I am not sure how I didn't realise he had stolen it when I was a kid but I guess I was just excited to get a sequel to my favourite game. What a treat I was in for. Warioland ended up becoming my new favourite and I played all the sequels. I have played through this game so many times. I actually like the simple backgrounds as well. I find complex backgrounds on the gameboy overwhelming most of the time. It is a issue I have with a lot of gameboy colour games. They seem to have lots of annoying backgrounds to show off all the colours they can display.

I guess that's just the wonders of being a kid, you don't think anything like that would be wrong... Had a friend once steal a Transformer and didn't think anything of it, that I'd simply lost mine >.< I need to get on playing the second one, but I played 3 & 4 to death! I agree... GBC games can be incredibly garish, but there are some good ones in there! Thanks for watching :)

Another great review mate. That was really well written paced I thought. I think sometimes the part at the start where you flash different pictures up goes on too long and has too much going on, but this one was perfect. (Thats feedback not making a dig!) I loved this game too. Don't think I owned it as a kid, or completed it. But a mate had it. I own it now so I might go back and complete it one day. My fav game is Mario Land 2, so hoping this one is as good ;)

You aren't kidding about Wario's power-ups seeming to be overpowered! If Mario had these kind of abilities in his earlier titles, the games would've been impossible to lose! :)

Easily my favourite game boy game. Depending on the play through I'd either get the tree house or the best castle. Don't forget that select button cheat! 'Pause, press SELECT 16 times a box' you can move your cursor box to up coins/lives/time.

2 isn't as bad as a lot of people say it is, I think 3 is probably the hardest and 5 is an original title, so if you're after a challenge I say 3... but if you want a fresh 8-bit Megaman experience, I think you should give 5 a whirl! Thanks for watching and hope this helps!
