This is the first track off my second CD. I wrote it after looking down and seeing my aging hand parting the plastic blinds in my little trailer as I peeked out on the young people milling around during a private DJ festival right on the property where I lived. It suddenly occurred to me that I had become a grumpy old woman in a trailer shaking her fist at the sky and begrudging the exuberant beings for their revelry and abandon. A cliche. So I wrote this song.
Richard Bowden on fiddle
I edited the video using Final Cut Pro. Some of the footage was taken at the Byron Blues Fest in Byron Bay, NSW.

LYRICS
Like an air strike,
I'm waiting for the rain to fall in the yard
and flatten all their camping tents
like a conquered town of cards
All the revelers in their platform boots
and wings and faded jeans
have gathered in the open field
a noisy coloured scene
Boys, angels and clowns
Girls in dancing gowns
Hoola hoopin' round
round and round
But the clouds fade away
It's just another sunny day
They're laughing and they're singing
as the red sun falls away
but days are like a wayward dog
they just won't sit and stay.
Now I'm thinking from my wooden porch
if I could have it all again
would I join them in the circle
could I dance like one of them?
Boys, angels and clowns
Girls in dancing gowns
Hoola hoopin' round and round
round and roundNew Video from Mo
