I had the privilege of meeting Alan Igbon as a fellow patient at the Royal Salford Hospital in January 2020, a few months prior to his death. A very nice guy and we had some interesting conversations/observations about life/ TV news back then.

A quintessentially English, dark humoured, comedy narrated by a complete foreigner who clearly knows very little of, or about the show or the peopleit protrays; other than what he is reading indifferently off a script, and in an accented monotone which is both hard to follow and which grates completely with the subject matter. Why can't it just be narrated, far more pertinently, by an empathetic, indiginous, northern Englishman with a knowledge and a feel for that part of Britain? Why does an utterly irrelevant, disinterested foreigner have to do it? It just does not work. Or is it simply to try and deliberately piss us off further?
