I'm so glad everyone is saying this did not age well. It had a very toxic relationship and was not well written too. God I can still hear ALMOST PAAAARRRAAADISE just by someone mentioning BoF lmao. That song triggers me so much 😂 I watched it back then too, and I can't even remember if I finished it. KDramas have come a long way and looking back, you can see Korean culture slowly changing and for the better. This is definitely not a show I'd recommend to anyone jumping into kdramas for the first time. Tbh, I'd say once you get used to kdramas, then maybe consider watching the older ones bc very few aged well lol this show is iconic in the way that it's a relic. And I also agree that the other versions were better. Glad to see the most recent remake in China changed up the bullying and red card stuff and the relationship wasn't as toxic.

I still find it fun because it's like an absurd drama acid trip where something crazy happens every episode. They also do a hell of a lot of traveling, so you're never in the same place for more than like 2 episodes. You don't necessarily watch it for quality. It's like drama crack.

Is BOF still considered iconic? I remember how popular this drama was at the time it came out and I couldn't understand why. There was a lot of toxicity in this drama! The main couple sucked and there was nothing to root for. I skipped all of their scenes cause I thought Yijeong and Gaeul were much more interesting to watch. Jandi and Junpyo had the most dysfunctional and unhealthy dynamic.
