Nice!! Love Boysetsfire!! I think the one that's going to really get you moving is either "After the Eulogy" title track or "Eviction Article". These 2 are much heavier and show the range of Nathan's vocal abilities. I love watching you 2 discover bands that I've listened to for years. It genuinely brings a smile to my face every day. You definitely aren't too far off on the lyrics. Nathan dealt for years with drug and alcohol abuse to cope with their depression and gender dysphoria. I think they're talking about how when they were younger, maybe even a kid, life felt easier, but as we get older, life becomes so much more complicated and difficult to navigate and all the hurt and complications you've experienced start to pile up making you feel like you don't know what you're doing anymore. The sometimes unhealthy coping mechanisms we engage in to deal with all of that can just compound those issues and drive us further into cycles of hurt and shame. Really humbling to know just how long Nathan had to live feeling uncomfortable in their own skin before being able to have the courage and support to start finally fully living their truth last year at 50 years old.
