The date in the video is incorrect and was filmed on the 12th October 2008 and not 2016. Thank you to William David Grant for spotting that for me. I'll upload the corrected date in the video eventually.

We keep a train register in Hardwick signal box. I was able to search for the combination of locomotives seen. The ride was behind the loco "Eureka" and left Hardwick at 15:02

Lovely to see this footage. Mr father one our regular Skypes suggested I took a look. My father remembers Eureka from the Greywood Central days when as a young man he helped out his Uncle (my great Uncle) AB Macleod. I hope Eureka Is still running now. I have early memories of staying with Uncle A ( Uncle Mac to the Cockrow railway !) In Wimbledon and being driven over to the railway. That was before even Cockrow hill branch was built. Such nice memories.

Eureka went through a major overhaul in 2018 for our 50th anniversary. Work was extensive with a new boiler, new driving wheels, strengthened frames and everything else that comes with a big overhaul. The tender also received a new body. She was in steam a few days ago for her steam test certificate to be issued. If you look at the videos on youtube of the 50th anniversary she features a lot.

@@matthewpeter Thanks Matt for reply. I’ve had a peek at one of those videos which has footage of the speech explaining all the work done. From reading some of the comments I guess that is yourself on Mere hall which again I think is one of the early engines. I guess that’s why you used it ! Spoke to my Dad tonight and he remembers on occasion on the Greywood when Mr Walt Disney had been invited down to drive he thinks Eureka and both Dad and Alistair Macleod’s son Ewan were given a sweeping brush and told by Alistair to brush leaves all day. He did get a chance later to see Walt and I think there is a photo somewhere of Walt on Eureka. So good to see it fully rebuilt and with a sound boiler. I myself carried out in steam inspections for a couple of full size industrial locos last week without issues and it nice to see happy people when everything goes to plan.

Your right, I took the wrong date of the file when I double checked when it was filmed.
