Last Expansion? So is this the End Game for BPRE 28?

@@dustgod1264 for now, the game is complete. Will we make a second edition? Possibly someday but the game is everything we hoped for and is so balanced we didn’t want to just keep adding onto it for the sake of sales. We are working on a new title which builds on the same systems that made BPRE28mm so unique. The new title is an entirely different setting with additional gameplay layered onto the proven mechanics and systems of the BPRE experience. But because BPRE was so balanced, the expansion is taking a lot longer than expected. Every change is requiring a bunch of balancing.

You mentioned this is the last expansion for the game. I was really interested in BPRE but is there a reason they are not expanding further?

The game is exactly what we were trying to make it and the balance is where we want it. So, we decided to work on something new and let BPRE28mm stand as it is.

If i get core and spearhead (mainly to have all the different factions), do you think it's alright to hold off on Phase Line for a while and/or just get the rulebook for it? I dunno how much is different between core and phaseline overall, aside from core having the stuff needed to actually play the game.

That is a really great question! To start, if you are on a strict budget I would recommend picking up Spearhead while it is on sale. It is really good value for the money and I expect prices will increase in the near future. If you get Spearhead along with the Complete Target Package for the core game, you will be able to play mission that comes in the core rules. With four factions, that is a lot of gameplay. That said, you will be limited on what you can play out of the Spearhead Expansion. First, Phase Line (PL) Taskings are integral to the campaign system. Without PL, you won't be able to play the campaign without making some major changes. Second, PL brought in two story buildings (7 and 8). All of the maps in Spearhead require one or more of three building that come in PL, so you won't be able to play on those maps without that expansion. Lastly, PL comes with a number of Fires Cards which are used in one of the Spearhead Missions. You can work around all three of these issues, but you can't get the full experience without PL. So to recap, I would grab the Complete Target Package (its come with six buildings, lots of tokens, a radial effect template, 75 cards, and 31 models) and Spearhead now. After you have had a chance to play the 11 taskings that come in the core rulebook and string together some night raids, purchase PL to open up additional gameplay.

I went ahead and got the core box for now to get my feet wet, even though i was extremely tempted to get spearhead during the current discount (still may lol). I figured PL would end up bring not essential, but pretty integral to the game as a whole. Especially considering there's only going to be 3 products from what i hear lol. @@warcorgi3623
