You totally could. The logarithm integral is just a nice and compact notation to talk about that integral. You could expand a lot of non-elementary things with series, but using their formal references is the same effect really. In the end you can’t solve them

That poly-logarithm function answer comes from the taylor series. The definition is Li_s (x) = sum of x^n/n^s, n=1 to inf. So we can show the result that he used using taylor series.

becauce the original integral contains lnx which requires x>0 so x+1 is always positive and for positive numbers |x+1|=x+1
