Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Knottingley Station taken on 25/09/1987. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. This location was a hive of MGR activity, mainly hauled by Class 56 Locomotives....Keep a watchful eye on the resident Black/White dog who patrols the platforms....Do you remember him if you were a local then....

What a great vid, i loved the 56s, they were powerful and looked it too, the dog was the star though, as someone commented it must have been a railway trained dog , i especially liked the way it waited for the coal train to pass before running across the sleeper crossing,, im sure it looked both ways first too.

Excellent, just as I remember it in the early 80s and then later in the mid 90s working MGRs from the NE to the Aire Valley PS.

Oh Dear. not a good start -Guard sitting with driver in the 144! Great video with the 56s on MGRs. The dog is obviously a Leading Railman/numbertaker.All your videos are bringing back memories which is very handy if you have Dementia! [honest]

I never got to see Knottingley depot in this era . Could the depot and locos be viewed from passing trains or was it on a freight only spur?
