Komodo or X hasn’t succeed in settling in between vlogging with gh, alpha, and other dslr and the FX6/9, c500, and before ursa line, it’s a toy when you can’t afford a real red or to put on a cinelifter for FPV shots… while I totally agrees with you on the BM6k which is so underrated !

Quite literally any camera. Can be a cinema if you strap enough expensive s*** and knowledge to it like. Yes, the camera itself was $3000. But you're forgetting about the easy rig that they had you're forgetting about the Gimble With A Z Access stabilization, by the way, which is f****** ridiculously expensive. In reality that $3000 camera was rigged up to be probably more close to 12 to $13000 for most all shots. Like yeah, there were some times they went straight hand held. But even then they had a bunch of super expensive s*** on it.

@garnomostudio 100% like no doubt. The rig is just expensive too. Like probably 10K for the Rig itself, if we're counting the easy rig? The gimbal, the monitor and the everything, including the camera. And then if you add the lens, you're probably looking at excess of 30000.

Seeing as the stabilized look of the creator was one of the core aspects of its look.There are four things that make a film Look the way it does. There is number one, the camera that it shot on if it's shot on film digital what. Type of digital camera and so on. Number two, the method in which it is primarily shot.Is it primarily shot handheld?Is it primarily shot stabilized If it shot handheld, they clearly want us to feel like we are there with the characters. We are a character. The camera is a character if it's stabilized.They want us to observe that we might not be there with the characters.But we are watching everything that is happening to them.We are a silent observer So it does have a lot to do. With the stabilization, but let's move on to the last 2 things. Then the lighting. The lighting is gonna give you the look of your film. I'm like no matter what you do. You have to have good lighting. If you got s***** lighting, then you have a s***** movie. But I can say the same thing for the other 2. But it's much more noticeable. In the lighting, you can get away with a lot less Trust me, I know i've worked as a gaffer And the last thing The lens choice. Are you shooting on anamorphics are you shooting on spherical?If you're shooting on anamorphix which ones what color is your flare What's your squeeze ratio? Is it a 1.31. 1.5 or 2x Is it modern or vintage If it's spherical, the first question is, is it modern or vintage if it's modern Is it modern that looks like vintage or is it clean modern?If it's vintage, is it sharp vintage or is it soft vintage glass Personally When i'm licking, add either working as a cinematographer on a film Documentary, or even just standard interviews like standard corporate interviews. The first thing I think Is spherical or anamorphic then modern or vintage room mix of bothIs spherical or anamorphic then modern or vintage or Mix of both. Then what lights am I gonna bring what modifiers to those lights Am I gonna bring how many c stands am I gonna need how many standard spreaders am I gonna need Then pretty much always. Unfortunately, I'm kinda forced to shoot on digital for budgetary reasons. But God do I want to shoot more film But then the last thing I think of is, do I wanna have it on a gimbal handheld? Which style of handheld? If I'm gonna be handheld and that has a lot to do with what lenses. I'm gonna end up choosing. Actually, because my personal camera the ronin 4d 6k Has the option from going from a gimbal system? A locked off camera. I can choose on the fly, which one that I want without having to do much rebalancing if any at all. But if I choose to do it handheld, then i'm going to run heavier lenses That wouldn't work with the z access stabilization. Or the regular three axis gimble due to the weight limit.But because it's locked I can These are just the things that goes through my head before I Any shoot I'm Hired on to Sometimes, if we have our own gaffer, which It's like a fifty fifty shot of especially in this low budget world.I don't even have to think about what lights.I'm gonna bring.They just bring all of their stuff and it makes my life easy So t l d r I really do this for a living stabilization. Does have a lot to do with it? It has a lot to do with the way that it influences your audience to think about their position in the film
