Ankita Pradhan, a lawyer, fiancee of a serving army officer and the daughter of a Brigadier, speaks for the very first time, in detail about the horror she underwent in Odisha. She has alleged that she was beaten, molested and abused at a police station where she and Capt Gurvansh Singh had gone to file a complaint against a group of rowdy miscreants who attempted to misbehave with them on the road.
The incident has had the military community up in arms.
The Chief Minister has met the couple even as the police also counter attack Ms Pradhan.
"My character is being attacked but I will fight this till the end," she says to Barkha Dutt. "That's what we were taught- how to be survivors"

It was reported, in Kerala, sometime ago some army personnel were roughed up by the police. They went back to their battalion and in a while they came back with their friends to the police station and taught the police a lesson of their life they will never forget.

@@TheKakarot_itachi may be your correct! But that doesn't mean they can be wrongly convicted for what they have not done, maybe other police officers have done it in the past, we can't blame all of them.

No matter what she may or may not have done, these police personnel need to be sacked immediately and prosecuted. No citizen, even a criminal, should be physically assaulted by the police.

Investigative Journalism rather that reporting and inviting victims to relate their abuse. The story lasts till another such occurrence of men insulting women . Men in uniform or otherwise , even when brought to justice are released because of early childhood trauma/abuse or poor parenting , phenomena world wide today. India is certainly at the cross roads of a very male dominated society emerging with the acceptance that our daughters can do to shoulder male roles ! Its painful to watch yet , I still stand for the millions who are respectful , well mannered ,well read and rise up to offer me a chair and speak gently . Western prisons are full of men enjoying free lunches and TV thats not the answer. REFORM.

Ankita is an extremely brave woman. Now that there is a concerted attempt to question her character after such ghastly experience that she went through is utterly disgusting and unimaginable. Just hope that at the end, justice will prevail and those guilty will be punished. Lots of courage to Ankita.

My question 1) why didn't you'll just straight drive or ride your vehicle to the police station, before it got physical and when it was only a argument. 2) why do you feel so powerful that your a lawyer, any MBA student can easily clear your exams easily like a banana cake. 3) why you feel so special and powerful, is it because your father is a ex defence personal even my father was a ex defence personal and more senior to yours, he is no more although, but i don't feel powerful in any police station because he was a defence personal i feel proud no ego here. 4) why you said they the accused were intoxicated, but you clearly say yourself "you did everything thing that any person would normally do in a club or pub", how does that make you different from them? 5) why if you are a lawyer and smarter and intelligent you couldn't have avoided this situation. 6) i dont mean to hurt you, i have a sister myself, who is at a very very high position, what happened inside the police station to you to hear it from you hurts me all of us, but there is no evidence for it, why do you think your information should to be considered so credible? 7) why did you avoid a blood test in the medicals, if you did! You should have known for once that gentlemen your Fiancees a is well trained amry personal, who can handle these kind of situations, there was no need for you to intervene and aggregate the situation and to bring your lawyers degree in this matter. My questions are genuine not personal, any elder brother would have asked you these questions. I apologise if i hurt anyone, i don't mean to hurt, i just hope "may justice be true".

@@vikrammenon1834 sir we shouldn't speak in this matter at the end of the day she is also as a sister to us all, I only asked questions, i would have asked my sister, if it had reached to such a situation because smart people don't behave dumb until some ego issues, power or influences is provoking that person to behave differently from normal' people like us, nothing more than that. Respect you and i respect the said victim too
