The police has not only failed to perform their basic duties but has also caused gross molestation of the victim. The dare to commit such offence by the police officers at the station is due to the culture of authoritativeness and dictatorship that is rampant in the police department itself. As rightly pointed out by Ankita's father in an interview, the police have duties and responsibilities first, while the authority is given to them only to discharge those duties.

If you follow this news, you will be shocked to know that many others have also made accusations of corruption and harassment against the IIC of that police station and one of the lady constables who was involved in the assault of the woman. The IIC is a habitual offender, yet he was made the head of a model police station at Bharatpur, where this incident took place. They all can't be wrong. The policing culture needs to amended.

Having followed this news very closely from the beginning, along with all the videos that were released, I find that she hasn't committed any wrongdoing either morally or legally, barring the elevator incident, which I believe was unruly. The videos of the road scuffle and argument at the police station that were released show only a part of the truth. In an argument since one thing leads to another, a person's actions and words cannot be judged by just listening to a part of the argument.

Sir, the IIC suspended was not even present in the scene. He came in morning I live near the Bharatpur PS area. I am gathering some information on this both from online and ground level The SUM hospital where her tests were conducted. The CCTV there shows both her and husband walking and talking. Her husband was detained because he was drunk The bar CCTV footage where they were drinking is also out The judicial probe will probably clarify better. And police could have done better. But a lot of what she is saying on "assault" is not corroborated.
