Mines been a nightmare. After napping 5 times, had to do a reset and start over. Now on the 11th mapping run and it's actually getting worse. After it makes a map I can add thresholds which helped, but during mapping I had to push it because it treats thresholds like walls once it tilts to get up them. The threshold option is nice but only works after it's mapped that area. Chicken or the egg issue. Also it only wants to map 3-4 rooms. It never goes past where it's mapped. Be nice to be able to put a placer on the map to tell it to look that way for more to map. S9+ vacuum has been perfect. 2 mapping runs, one to map while house and second to better identify carpeted areas. Voila it's perfect. But this mop is a nightmare for me

Sorry to hear.. we are think of making an updated video cause I agree with you.. our mapping has gotten worst and the robot constantly circles around before returning to base or its original cleaning route. Hard reset and re set up help a little but u may need to contact I robot to have it fixed or replaced

I agree. I have been messing with mine for 7 days after 6 days it finally mapped all the rooms because I had to put it in kitchen due to a threshold between kitchen and livingroom. After all day of mapping it did not map the two bathrooms correctly. It has them as one room which is crazy because one is off our bedroom in the back and the other is off the hallway. Now I can't figure out how to delete them off the map. ARGH!!! It is so frustrating.

Also I have 2 area rugs it avoids one which is in dining room and goes on the one in living room- same exact rugs.

So many videos saying what this thing can do but I have found none that explains how to have the robot JUST MAP without cleaning.

Solution😀 the "@CAR Family", at the top of post: "Put a dry pad on when mapping and it won’t clean. If it won’t map an area you have to bully it by blocking it’s exit with your feet forcing it slowly to where you want it to go. J7+ mapping was superior" - it worked for me! With no bullying! Yay! - Hope it works for you, too!

A few problems with the Braava Jet: - Has difficulty navigating in the dark - Has to have the water tank full when just doing a mapping run. - Still cleans on a mapping run thus taking longer to get a completed map. I've tried mapping 3 times & still do not have a completed map. Thank you!

@@carfamily5701 Well, thank you so very, very much. This has got to be one of the best kept secrets! 8-)... By golly your right! Doing a mapping run right now and it going rather quickly. I saw someone further down in this posting ask the same question. I'd like to share your post with them. Hopefully, this makes it into all of the product reviews as the solution - "just put a dry pad on when mapping I it won;t clean." (and it doesn't ask me to "fill the tank", either!) Genius!

Agreed 🙏 The tip re: blocking it’s exit (not nudging just blocking ofc) to force it to map an area it avoids apparently came direct from iRobot customer support per another video I watched lol

I have this same mop!!! My advice- do not buy!!! I got this for Christmas from my family and it has yet to have a complete map. Leaves streak everywhere. I have to remop each time it runs. I hate it!!!
