Hailey KAFO Leg Braces

A knee-ankle-foot orthosis (KAFO) is an orthosis that encumbers the knee, ankle and foot. Motion at all three of these lower limb areas is affected by a KAFO and can include stopping motion, limiting motion, or assisting motion in any or all of the three planes of motion in a human joint: saggital, coronal, and axial. Mechanical hinges, as well as electrically controlled hinges have been used. Various materials for fabrication of a KAFO include but are not limited to metals, plastics, fabrics, and leather. Conditions that might benefit from the use of a KAFO include paralysis, joint laxity or arthritis, fracture, and others. Although not as widely used as knee orthoses, KAFOs can make a real difference in the life of a paralyzed person, helping them to walk therapeutically or, in the case of polio patients, on a community level. These devices are expensive and require maintenance. Some research is being done to enhance the design; even NASA helped spearhead the development of a special knee joint for KAFOs

i wear braces but i would be telling them you dont need all three straps at the top one or two will surfice , not only that you should be putting them on yourself.. .when walking too..dont pull yourself up that way when you walk.cause eventually your elbows and wrists will suffer because of it...let you hips do it and move one leg at a time the way you were walking up the stairs..trust me..ive been walking in them since i was 2 yrs of age and now im 64 and still walking with them..(no cure for me) Abled bodies will try and tell you how you should do it..but fine your own way thats comfortable for you and yet still works..

Classic tall leg braces, both KAFO or HKAFOs , made of steel and real leather, are really comfortable, eben if you need crutches or cane(s).

the stuff NASA made was *stance control* lock for kafos. these are AWESOME!!!!! SUPER EXPENSIVE tough :/

Would leg braces fix duck feet at age 28? I ask cause my doctor suggested i get leg braces to correct it but someone else told me if i did id be in a wheelchair by age 40

You should look into a Neuromuscular appliance for your mouth it balances your structure from the top down you may need a dentist who specializes in neuromuscular orthotics . Your beautiful by the way
