Hello Dave and Camera Lady 😊. Thank you for the exciting video! ❤❤I was sure she had that boy when he fell back in, but I should have known better. Dave and his trusty paint brush 🖌️🎨to the rescue! (Insert victorious music here). 🎶I don’t think your boy there would agree that she is at all docile 😂. In all seriousness, I wonder, have you ever noticed if there is a difference in successful egg sacs between the females that eat their males and the ones that don’t? I would imagine that the munch rate is higher in the wild. Just a thought. I would give an awful lot to be in England 🇬🇧 this weekend to see the show and meet you and your lovely wife. Perhaps someday. I am off to the arms of Morpheus. Take care, be safe and have a fabulous show. Good night my friends. 🌜♥️💛🖤

20:45 Now it makes sense why, when I was a kid, if you had to imagine 'a tarantula' then the colouring and patterning of the smithi is exactly what we would have pictured.

Very good and educational video. The big spiders, good camera work, and professional narrative let you really appreciate what's going on. Your reminder about what taking from the wild does to the species as a whole was timely and pertinent. We're supposed to be stewards, not exploiters.

Hello Dave and Camera lady. You know. I asked myself a while ago what on earth would happen if you moved home with all your collection. I had a vision of a removal man in the back of the van sitting on your sofa with a flame thrower in case they had to make an emergency stop.😆😆

Hi Dave and Camera Lady 💙💕🕷️ Hope you’re both doing well today. I’m over the moon to see you doing a Brachypelma Smithi pairing video Dave. 😊 I love the Brachy’s as I’m the proud spider mummy of an Hamorii 🕷️ You have two gorgeous examples starring in today’s video. I just love the colours of this genus. You just proved that men CAN multitask 😂 By saving your male, whilst filming 😂 I totally agree about hobbyists that can breed their spiders should. Then the offspring can be distributed back into the hobby. It’s common sense, it takes the pressure off the wild species, they can repopulate and be saved from extinction. Thanks Dave and Camera Lady for another great video. Take care, and have a great BTS this weekend 💙💕🕷️😘xxx

I love how enthusiastic you are about trying to conserve wild spiders. It’s exactly the same way I feel about fish and my fish keeping hobby. As a nature and animal lover, it breaks my heart how some people only want wild caught animals. Very nice video. I currently have a female Brachypelma Hamorii that I raised from a sling. She was about the same size as the fruit flies I was feeding her (basically an egg with legs), she is now five years old so not quite ready to be bred yet. Hopefully when she is old enough I can find a male for her. It was nice to see a pure Smithi for some comparison.

I love brachypelma, i have all the species and all the tliltocatl to before they split them upp. I bought them all as slings exept a large B klaasi female i found for a great price. Exept for their slow growng pace and a period as juveniles where most of them will kick a lot of hair i love everything about them! I dont really breed spiders right now since i dont really have the time to take care of 100+ slings right now but in the future when my own kids are larger and my work career is more stable i will probably breed some of the more rare spicies.

Brachypelma Hamorii & Smithi are my favourite species, they may be seen as basic or beginner to a lot of big tarantula collectors but they are pleasing to the eye and look amazing in comparison with bright green moss 😍

Oooooohhhh ! When I saw the thumbnail, my eyes lit up ! Love me some Brachys ! I'm relieved to see the male was out of harm's way in the end. He really didn't mess around. I also appreciate seeing those two as it demonstrates the carapace variation from one animal to another. Definitely looking forward to future results on this pairing and seeing which other Brachys will soon be getting a rehouse. They may not be the most exciting spiders to work with, but I feel they compensate with their beauty, hardiness and long lifespan in the females. Can't go wrong with those, IMO. Same goes for Grammostola, Aphonopelma and Tliltocatl. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)

Wooh. That was a thriller. If you weren't ready to safe him He would've stayed for dinner. Job well done👍 When He was so flat on the ground He maybe used the surface of the soil to enhance his vibrations. I saw a docu ones how male spiders do that and the effect is stunning. Anyway, they're still one of the most beautiful spiders around😍

this was a great video! My smithi has actually dug the most beautiful tunnel down into her substrate, with a double entrance, and she stays down in her tunnel about 50% of the time and the other 50% she loves to be out walking about, doesnt make a difference if it's night or day. I dont think many people realize how smithis like to dig if they can, they are really good at it!

That was an amazing pairing to watch! Seeing how she changed her body posture and legs plus having your commentary made it even better. Your videos really are awesome learning tools! My absolute favorite Brachypelma is the Klassi and it's the one I want as my first T., but they're scarce here in America and pricey when available. I'm hoping that more people breed these! Your talk about breeding and such was wonderful as well. The owner of MicroWilderness (based in California) has been catching, breeding, and releasing Brachypelmas and Aphonopelmas for a bit now and I think its a wonderful thing to do! Have fun at BTS this Sunday and thank you for another amazing video!! 😃💜

Congratulations on the show and ur participation, that's awesome man! And thx on this vid cuz, I had always until now, thought the total opposite! I luv updating the knowledge database from a reputable source (sources). That slip of the male reminds me of the vid (can't remember which T), but a pairing started wild like that, male penetrated, but then on escape, he did the same, but fell like, on her, upside down, and it was to late to do anything so, good save this time. She thought she was sneaky, huh?! She was curlin around him, and he seemed to not even realize, crazy! \O>

As i understand it the spider you were talking about , the one that was very comon in the hobby for years was the b.hamorrii sold as the smithy and it was only recently that they discovered the actually smithy was from a different area and not the one widespread in the hobby .
