It's funny, I thought the ProTools seem very similar to Source Engine's Hammer Editor.. turns out that the lead dev was a TF2 modder previously, so it makes sense the tools feel similar.. In the end, Hammer has a pretty cool editor and combining that with Unity is just great!
@gabrielwilliams83186 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Big inspiration, yep. Except the constant crashing of Hammer :D
@thatanimeweirdo6 жыл бұрын
Gabriel Williams Oh Boy, senpai noticed me! :D I gotta say, the only reason I still worked with Hammer was, that I love the grid approach of it. ProBuilder and ProGrid are equally good tools that I now use in every project I work on! It's incredible how fast I now greybox levels with it! And yeah, Hammers stability also taught me to save every 15 seconds

Any chance you could do a video on simulating gravity for irregular objects, like say I want to walk in the inside of a cylinder, I could apply force away from the center, but if I cut a portion out so it's like a 'C' how would you go about keeping yourself against such an object so you can freely walk on any plane?
@Kryo4096x6 жыл бұрын
You could maybe do something with raycasts and normals.
@jakezepeda12676 жыл бұрын
Kryo4096 I've done a little something with normals before. But problems arise when you move too fast or when you hit some sort of corner where you touch more than one plane.
@iamnobody86 жыл бұрын
Well i had no problems with normals approach
@kingbrodan6 жыл бұрын
this is super cool, this makes it like 100 times easier to do this than the other way.
@scriptingtutorials40606 жыл бұрын
Brackeys, could you do a sort of realistic FPS series. Not multiplayer or actually a game. just a couple episodes on how to achieve things like good scopes, aiming, weapon sway and stuff like that. there really is no updated tutorial on how to do this! it would be very appreciated! if you like this idea, like the command so he can notice it.
@ChronoCZ6 жыл бұрын
But.... he already has that tutorial. Just look at his youtube history.
@nazzlan6 жыл бұрын

Realistic is the point? You can always modify what he shows in the video.
@sicfxmusic6 жыл бұрын
ChronoCZ Chill mate, he just want to copy, aka spoon fed tutorials !!
@Shadowraix6 жыл бұрын
Your main complain is none are updated, but you really shouldn't be having any problems using older tutorials. The biggest difference maybe being obsolete APIs that Unity conveniently tells you to fix.

I can't find an answer to this anywhere on the internet. Do you Brackeys or anyone else know what "CollectGPUSamples" is in the CPU Profiler? Is that just part of the profiler overhead? But there's also something called EditorOverhead and Profiler.CollectGlobalStats so I thought it may not be... It's taking up >1/3 of my frame render time. Thank you for any help.

Hey Brackeys awesome content as always! If I could suggest a tutorial topic. DOTween or equivalent, it is something I use in all my projects, but it took me a long time to discover. All the best!
@shul56845 жыл бұрын
just realized that if the plane is too big.. the vertices get so huge as well that is impossible to use the polybrush.. is there a way to increase vertices?
@zzayy5 жыл бұрын
You can make a plane in Blender and subdivide it multiple times to add more vertices before you import it to unity

Is there a way for me to save what I painted as a texture map, and then use another shader? I like being able to paint but i don't like poly brushes shader
@zandra88306 жыл бұрын
Ey Jorn, I was wondering if it is possible to restrict a player to only play as far as the camera can see only and nothing more than that. Sort of restricting the player to not move to far away say on both x and z axis in case it's a 3D top-down vertical. I hope you get the idea here(Similar to Sky Force). So far I have tried without luck. I find no vids on this. Thanks!

How do you export a polybrush or probuilder GameObject to be used in another project? They come out as a blank object - something to do with saving the mesh for the instance, but it doesn't seem to work. Is this just because it is beta or is there some special method for exporting these? Also - probuilder video would be rad!

Okay so Brackeys, I was using this tool the other week and somehow I cannot remove it from my project. By that I mean that whenever I hover an object it appears with the brush over it. But I dont want it to always pop all the time. Do you know if there is a way to disable the tool when not needed.

Brackeys my dude, could you please please please make a video about creating multiplayer, eg. Online, MMO, Local Multiplayer. that sort of stuff.
@antzphilippinesph72055 жыл бұрын
FBlaDe_ ik its been like a year but I just wanted to say an MMO tutorial may be difficult as most MMOs have servers so you’d need to code the connections between the servers and unity. But Local MP and Online will most likely be easier.

Unity just respond to my comment in their video the guy who commented it was matt schell maybe you know him or maybe not. I commented about making the texture smoother and semi-realistic every time the player/object moves inside the radius and they said you need distance based mesh tesselation and detail maps. Can you do a tutorial or livestream about that I really like the realistic looking games so yeah hope you respond...
