@alana terrel what generation isn't considered as stupid by the previous generation?
@Sindollx666x5 жыл бұрын
Yeah he's kind of an acquired taste, and makes some obscure references that date him a bit, kinda like Jeff Goldbloom if you've seen many interviews with him. But with the generation before this one or anyone born between about 1977 to early 90s, should at least have nostalgic appreciation/affection for him, even if not a big fan of his body of work. I had stuff I enjoyed of his, and stuff that I kinda went "meh" towards. But there was a time there that it seemed like he was in everything. I always loved his Fire Marshal Bill sketches on In Living Color & The Mask, sometimes Ace Ventura, if I was in the mood. Personally I like my comedy more obscure/odd/surreal , than stupid/gross out comedy. (Think Mtv's The State, Mr.Bean, The Young Ones, The Mighty Boosh) But, I actually thought he was a great Riddler, even though those non-Tim Burton Batman films sucked until Nolan revamped them. I think the newer generation would do well to "discover" Carrey for themselves going back and watching work of his "before their time", so to speak. I could see him catching on in a "I'm cool coz I know about Jim Carrey who my parents, aunt, etc. grew up watching " sort of way. Lol. P.s. i do enjoy his more "serious" roles later Eternal Sunshine, Yes Man, The Truman Show, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Majestic, I love you Philip Morris.

Just be yourself." I was like, "No, that's not what I meant." I couldn't explain it. I have tried to explain this concept to other people but they just look at me confused. 4:34 "Yeah there's a part of me that's dumb as heck. But it's that DUMB you INVITE. It's that dumb that you offer other people to make them feel better about themselves, so I feel good about that kinda dumb." This is true to the core. If you are down to earth, not being scared of the fact that you don't know something, then you have nothing to hide. And that makes people feel safe, feel good about being with you. This is something I can relate. I always am honest with the people at work, I make fun of them and myself, I ask questions about things I don't know, no matter how simple they are. We have fun at work all the time. Works don't seem stressful anymore if you can enjoy the people doing them with you everyday.

@Non-American Country Singer You should've understood my first comment because I agree with what you said, even though the corona virus started in December, people around the world at that time were not taking it seriously yet, so Jim's quote about no way to prepare for some disasters applies more sense to when I made the comment, not when the interview was uploaded. And besides, WHO declared corona to be a pandemic on March 11, a month after that interview. I wasn't saying it was not true when the interview was made though, I said "much true today" the day I made the comment. If you still think I am dumb, well that's okay. I hope I made you feel better about yourself. 4:41 Have a nice day.
