I made the trip, even brought my daughter, to pay my respects to Chris some months afterwards. I was shocked, SHOCKED, to see how understated his burial plot was. We had trouble even finding it. When we finally did, it was like a 12 by 18 black marble plaque, inconspicuously placed by the edge of the grass. It seemed somehow wrong that this man was not laid to rest in a mausoleum like Sir Isaac Newton's. Going did not make me feel better like I thought it would; I thought "If that's all CHRIS CORNELL gets, then I will certainly one day depart this world with much less." But then I realized that his legacy is the body of beautiful music he created, not some polished rock somewhere.
@debbassgirl5862 жыл бұрын
He should have been laid to rest in Seattle. I can't imagine being buried in LA would be something Chris would have wanted. @Motiveinc224 жыл бұрын
I was a bit disgusted too, but its actually kinda interesting to see these celebrities attend something like this. We mainly see these celebrities when they're doing some kind of performance. It's rare we see them as normal human beings who feel loss just like the rest of us. It's also interesting because when I think of Chris' friends, I think of Tom Morello and Chester Bennington. So it's neat to see Brad Pitt, Jeremy Renner, and Josh Brolin were also affected by his death.

Hollywood Forever Funeral Home is open view for the cameras to see. Celebs know they are being filmed. And the family and friends want it filmed, it a tribute, a memory, we were all invited to say goodbye... the distance keeps it from becoming a circus, and keeps it respectful.

I'm glad we all get to watch this. Chris Cornell affected so many people. We understand that when a loved one dies, you probably don't want a lot of people there. At the same time, everyone there understood how amazing Chris was and how many lives he touched. Don't forget, they did have a very private ceremony with only 4-5 people there when he was cremated. I think it's amazing that you see people like Joe Walsh, Brad Pitt, Jimmy Page, Jerry Cantrell, Chester Bennington, Dave Grohl, Christian Bale, James Hetfield, Tom Morello, Dave Navarro, Lars Ulrich, Kim Thayil, and more. I don't think ANY of them did it for publicity or because it was "the thing to do" for celebrities.

Sweet. He has changed much over those many years. I was at sm AIC concert in Vienna at 2018. It was great but he seemed withdrawn ( I saw him before they went on stage on a huge window on the second floor , inside the building where the backstage area was, leaning against the glass and staring at the crowd , just overlooking the scene and kind of looking. .....very far away ) but he didn't really connect until the classics came on : Nutshell , Roster , etc and some people tried hard to sing along but one could hear voices crack.... And at the end he walked off as soon as possible. He said something on stage and it was kind of choked up , right after the usual mentioning of Layne and Mike..... The audience was confused and clapped.... Later I read my phone and read that vinnie paul had died a fee days before. It was the day of his funeral. That was what he said on stage but the mic made a sound so nobody heard it clear ! I think I wasn't the only one who felt like a huge asshole for clapping.... we only tried to acknowledge the LSMS speech, as it is on their base drum....but we didn't get the sentence after that....as if we clapped for a fucking funeral happening. @elenikgr1297 жыл бұрын
Mourning is a human right - even for children. The notion of this being good for them is sorely mistaken. They should be allowed to understand and realize what they lost - they lost their FATHER, they supportrer, provider and loved one, a part of them died and they had every right to mourn. "Protecing' them from their feelings, makes them harden inside and this being the most significant loss to date, they will learn to act indifferently to more losses once they grow - friends, spouces, family... mourning is a natural human feeling and shouldn;t be supressed or erased, children should be helped through it. It's therapeutic and allows the connection between the living and the lost remain strong. People are not robots, they should be allowed to have feelings, feelings make humans more human. Go watch videos with Chris getting interviewed about Andrew Wood. Watch him tear up after years of his friend being lost, but then again, as it sems, he was a superior human in every aspect of the term. Consider children even more sensitive to feelings and acting on them. This is not natural.

I don't see his mom there? Was she there? This whole funeral looks so rushed, and tacky. The Hollywood Forever cemetery shows horror movies during the month of October, I believe. St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church is not that far away from this place, or at least they could have flown him home to Seattle...I feel like Chris deserved better than this...rest in peace, Chris.
