August Winterman You’re talking out of your ass. Humans protect and love them closest to themselves but they do not care about anybody outside of this group. They tell themselves they do, but they really don’t. Just look how many „care“ about children in Africa starving to death, but how few are actually doing something about it, we have more than enough food for all humans, we just don’t care. You can’t tell me, you‘d do anything for your bakery owner, gas station attendant etc. They are all part of your life.

It hits u in waves. When u attempt, it's a spur of the moment thing. After I attempted, I always thought "why did I fucking do that?" But with depression, it's a disease. It's unpredictable. As for people saying "they were so happy before." They're holding the memories they have of the person and holding it under a microscope. Nothing more, sadly.

That’s how it was for me. I got this wonderful high that lasted several days. It was them moment I realized I was in control and there was an end to the pain. I don’t care if it was only pain for another month I had enough, I wasn’t going another day, I called my parents and told my mom my decision , I was so happy and free, It was an amazing feeling. I used my few day high to do a massive amount of research and diagnosed myself with a very rare dopamine deficiency. And got on the correct medication and I’m past that part of my life now still live every day in pain but it’s livable.

YES. same, here. this and chris cornell completely knocked the shit out of me. i did shed some tears and felt like i was mourning more than men, but i was mourning my high school and college years!! joseph, it's not that we just "sing their songs," and if you really think that, then you have never had any experience worthwhile when it comes to music. i mean, what is the point of listening to or watching anything if you aren't going to search for meaning or pieces of yourself, your life, and your experiences within? that's how humans relate to the world in every way. it's what separates us from robots and psychopaths. anyway. to just "sing" the lyrics is to completely miss what the artist is expressing. and i am the opposite, i can't listen to them and a lot of other old favorites, anymore. i feel like it's revisiting something that i can't ever get back, and that makes it a very strange, and sometimes, somber experience. idk, i have embraced new music and different bands to make sure i'm not dwelling too much on the past. i look forward to my future and the right music can completely change my mood and disposition by dragging me back into the past or pumping me up for what's coming next.

No one seems to want to hear peoples problems, if they try to open up they're labeled as "negative" and complaining . They are avoided which leads to more isolation. Just last few years, I realized I'm just me, whether no one else is like me, gets me, ok, do me. Huge decision/choice to do me, cuz at that point I didn't know me without the ruckus going on in my head. So rather than looking around I looked in. My "in" is different from most, just is. For one, I don't make friends. I have in past, it wasn't hard. But my true me isn't that person. We are told we should have as many friends as possible from childhood. Turns out, that's not me. I'm not "comfortable" I don't want anyone having expectations of me. Not that I'm anti social, hate people, the point is I realized social butterfly is not my role, I'm not that crowd, others are. Still not sure entirely what my "role" is but Im learning as I go, for myself, just for myself, not to become someone I'm not for any reason. My little brother killed himself 10 years ago. I’ve come to realize sometimes people have come to peace with leaving this world. After spending a decade thinking about the subject I’ve come to realize that sometimes we would be at more peace to not be here as difficult as that sounds. It’s their choice, if they have lost the true quality of life and every day is a true struggle then death is true peace. Your loved ones may find it selfish of you but it’s selfish to make you live a painful life when you don’t want to.

I understand your last sentence so much, only my problem is social phobia and chronic anxiety... which has limited my life so much it sometimes causes phases of depression. I'm a 24 year old woman and I can't even pick up the phone and make a doctors appointment because I'm so afraid of being rejected by whoever I'm speaking to. Forget about actually showing up to said appointment and talking to them about my problems... I'd die. I know it's illogical but my brain doesn't care and fills me with the level of fear you'd experience if a massive bear was charging at you. It's so messed up and feels hopeless. I don't have superpowers... I can't change my what my brain wants to do with just willpower... I've tried. To the outside world I'm a loser and a mooch for not having a job. Little do they know, I'm actually doing FANTASTIC with what I've been dealt. Most days I still find a way to be cheerful, help animals, and spread love to people who need it. Good luck to you. @sman8326 жыл бұрын
@Ret1173 The man had been struggling long before Talinda came into the picture. It's not her fault and not everyone is equipped or understands how to help someone with severe depression. Everything you're mentioning, you don't think has already been tried? You have no idea what it's like to be with someone who has mental illness. My wife is and has been going through severe depression and has made suicide attempts, guess that's my fault as well according to your logic. No, it's not. She's made attempts long before me and it all began with early the childhood upbringing as with her, Chester had a terrible upbringing filled with abuse, molestation and who knows what else and when it implants in the psyche at such a young age..well you get a recipe for disaster as an adult. When you marry someone with depression, it affects everyone, some are better at hiding it and once they make up their minds that they want to take their life, they are gonna do it, there's only so much you can do, 24/7 monitoring is not realistic and no way to live for anyone, clinics will only monitor 24/7 for 2 weeks max and many fake being better cause they don't want to be in a clinic that long, so then what? Mood stabilizers, they can get abused and affect other parts of the brain overtime, again no way to live. The only true solution for him was to talk and be open and honest with those who are close on how he is feeling, empathy if you will has been the most effective, at least for me an my wife. In this case, he found an opportunity to take his life to stop the demons in his head and he took it.

The thing is in most surroundings, people start to avoid you if you are in a constant negative mindset. There are hundreds of tutorials on how to stay away from negative people, labelling them as toxic. Alot of times, these "toxic people" are highly sensitive, emotional and caring people, while alot of the "forced positives" focus on success and enjoying themselves (pure egoism). Depressed people such as myself have to choose between putting up a smile every day, or loosing everyone. Unfortunatly i`ve chosen to be myself and lost everyone. I understand everyone, that goes with the mask, but in the end it doesn`t really matter. No one cares if one more light goes out.

Another big warning sign that suicide may be being strongly contemplated by a person who suffers from depression is when they appear to be at their happiest or almost euphoric. When they've finally resolved to put an end to their life they often finally feel some relief. They are also trying to leave their loved ones at a time when everyone is happy because they don't want their loved ones to hurt. As Telinda said, nobody expected it then with Chester. They had just had a good family vacation. Everything seemed good. That was actually one of the subtle signs.

Mental health is something that is still not taken as seriously as it should be. People will almost never show any signs of clinical depression and might look fine. But you really need to pay attention to mannerisms, behaviors, facial expressions, etc to really know if someone is having problems. Of course someone with clinical depression and suicidal thoughts will most likely never come upfront about it due to fears of social stigmas, what their family, friends, coworkers, etc might think among other factors. But eventually if no one takes notice and no one brings it up, that individual is like a ticking time bomb and will eventually lose faith, lose hope, and lose interest in living and just go through with it. But the thing is, many people will think about it but rarely people will actually go through with it.

When I was dealing with depression (I am still going through minor phases here and there) I found it helpful to talk to other depressed people. Or at least people who have been depressed in the past. They have proven to have the ear to listen to my problems and then make me feel accepted. We are somehow together against this state of mind and once again, together, we are hoping to get through this with time. I don't think people know how to handle depression properly. They usually send you to a therapist or tell you to be happy and surround yourself with happyness and uplifting people. This however, is THE WORST you can do. Their happiness makes you realise just how bad everything is. Usually when a person is depressed, they have a reason to feel like they are an outsider. By having people around you, showing you how to have fun, you feel even more alone in your misery. You start asking yourself why can't you be like the others? How come they are so happy? Don't they see the problems you see? How come? Are they stupid or something? Are they just sheep? Am I the only one with my eyes open here!? That cannot be the case! This is of course a very selfish thing to think and it must be wrong. So why!? Why!? Why am I different!? I WANT TO BE LIKE THEM! I CAN'T! How can I end the misery when the act of living itself is miserable to me! ... ... Oh...

They have been battling with the idea of killing themselves for so long, that when they finally decide to actually do it, they sort of calm down. I’ve seen a couple naïve comments, feeling sorry for Talinda Bennington. Why feel bad for Talinda? I’ve always felt that she was the reason for Chester’s suicide. I’ve been in Chester’s shoes. I’ve had a narcissistic girlfriend, who didn’t feel better unless I felt worse. She actually made me think about suicide a couple times, but thankfully, because of my son, I climbed out of that wormhole. @Talinda, if you did cause Chester Bennington to commit suicide, Rot In Pieces. RIP Chester Bennington!! You’re a legend, & a bad-ass!! I’m sorry your children will have to go through life without you!!

I had the honor of meeting both Chester and Talinda back in 2005.They were living in Long Beach and had me come to their home and play/watch their dogs for a few hours. My dad was their driver at the time. I went to several of his concerts including Projekt Revolution. The day I heard he had committed suicide, I got so angry. I played the song Heavy on an hour loop trying to figure out why. His music helped me get through my depression so to hear that his demons had won just made me feel lost. I still love his music but I still can't listen to it just yet. I hope Talinda and her family is doing better today, and that they never have to go through this again.

I’ve suffered from depression pretty much my whole life. The statement they made that “it’s not just feeling blue” is the realest statement you could make about this disease. I’m the type of person that has the potential but this disease always finds a way to get in the way. It’s almost as if it’s normal being depressed. Very hard to explain but I feel for people that go through this and wish more people could understand instead of being judgmental and making assumptions.

@ancientgear71926 жыл бұрын
idkmyuser1 well maybe if his wife trully loved him , he might not end up commiting suicide. Look at the video ,she doesnt even seem to be sad at all. It seems after all that women cannot love men, they can only love their children. If it wasnt chester but one of her children, do u think she would be so calm ? No she would be crying all the time. All in all , women only care about themselves and their children and dont give a shit about their husbands i think thats its more than obvious that if a child of her had the same symptoms as poor chester , she would have realized it and she would have saved the child by any means, but chester??? No , no, no , she was incapable of understanding his hell for the simple reason that ,as a woman, she didnt even care in first place. Sorry if my response is offensive to u or anyone reading this but i just had to say this. Truth has to be told , stay away from women , for they are poison to your soul, health and money . thats a good reason for suicide ... Even tho im just 17 years old im sure this is the truth.
@ancientgear71926 жыл бұрын
E Unfortunately im not trolling, what i said above, i believe it entirely, i think its obvious that women are by their nature ,incapable to love a man. As for her ,she suddenly became rich and very popular dont u think?
@ancientgear71926 жыл бұрын
E this is true, but the possibility i mentiont is very likely and many people believe it. After all, it has happened so many times . i just have the belief that women are incapable to love men due to their female nature and thus, they are unable to understand their husbands (simply cause they dont care) so they are not there for them when the men need them. And now coming back to our topic, u will see her with another man sooner or later. Because for them we are like tanpons ,replacabe.....

They all missed a critical point. Suicide and death of despair has become a leading cause of death for middle age men and you won't get tipped off by "irrational" thoughts and behaviour. One of the biggest drivers of this crisis is the rational thought that in this finite existence there has been more pain than pleasure and it will only get worse as one gets older. To the suicidal it is as clear as basic math: this + that = I am screwed and life sucks, life sucks + getting older = no hope. I think you get it. The signs to look for are encased in this kind of thinking and not necessarily in irrational behavior. The signs are subtle cynicism along with statements that appear rational but have terminal doom laced within ie..." The only thing certain is death and taxes".
@kingolo973 жыл бұрын
Most of us were raised in a household where it wasn't the norm to address your feelings or your hardships. From my perspective, I know my parents grew up in a time where you didn't express your feelings and you did whatever you had to do with no complaints. My first two years out of the house, I was having a hard time fitting in, I felt alone and helpless. I soon realised that I never felt okay, I constantly beat myself up (figuratively speaking), and constantly convinced myself I wasn't worth anyone's time. When I moved to Madrid, I avoided a lot of chances to socialise and kept isolating myself. This only led to more negative thoughts to the point I got tired of being sad all the time. I called my dad, and cried like hell. I was afraid of harming myself or maybe worse. So I spoke to a psychologist for a year and we analysed where all this came from. It all boils down to not addressing how I really felt. Being proud or trying to seem tough will never help, speak out!
