@@repent6238 Yes He did say that but He also established His Church and appointed Peter as the rock on which He built it. He could see without a Head there would be division. He promised the Holy Spirit to His apostles to guide them with Peter the Head. One, Holy, and Apostolic Church. And so the Catholic Church has continued since Peter and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it. It has survived for 2000+ years, with many trials, martyrs, sinners, but it still teaches the truth, directed by the Holy Sprit.
