My mom used a wooden spoon, usually for the same fight. He never encouraged me to fight back, but I did anyways, because I was always being bullied. I got the belt because I was a 3rd grader who got in a fight with a 6th grader. Dad's mom told him to fight back, or it was his Grandpa. My two kid brothers got to learn karate. 😡🤬

As someone who uses a wheelchair I can definitely relate to the part about how people react to hearing that our parents don’t always treat us as these fragile beings, it’s great!

I love Brad's comedy, and his attitude toward life. Take what most people would call a negative and turn it into your greatest strength. My dad was like Brad's dad. He taught us " If you start a fight, you better finish it. Then I will whoop your ass when you get home for starting it. So don't ever start a fight. If there is any way possible, walk away from a fight. If they call you a coward, let them. It is just words. But if you have no choice but to fight, you do and use whatever it takes to be the only one able to walk away at the end of the fight. Then you offer to help them up. That shows them you didn't want to fight in the first place, but that you will defend yourself. It also makes you the bigger man. " My dad passed away on January 9, 2002, of lung and esophageal cancer. He had turned 70 on November 24, 2001. He was the man I feared the most in my life, and he was the man I most wanted to be like. He was my idol and my role model. I miss him every day. Brad is so lucky to have the kind of father-son relationship that so many children don't ever get. Even many kids who have both parents at home suffer from neglect and abuse from their parents, because their parents believe all of the crap about not spanking or disciplining their child, or every child must be given a trophy simply for participating. Therefore they don't know how to face adversity because they never experienced any. These kids have grown up to be SJW's and Antifa thugs and BLM supporters because they they never received their daily dose of Vitamin NO. They were never forced to face reality and so are now unable to recognize what reality truly is. This world needs a hell of a lot more men like Brad's dad. And like Brad.

Oh my God! He is awe-inspiring and just wonderful! I didn't feel sad or sorry until he talked about his dad's treatments. The outcome broke me! With the smiling and the crying, I just caught the grandson joke! I'd pay money to see his show!

When he brought his father out I started balling. I have such admiration for this guy. Humor has always been my therapy and my suit of armor. It is an underrated tool. To quote Ricky Gervais, "If you can laugh in the face of adversity, you’re bullet-proof."

Cut to a few years after this special was taped, and he and Jasmine (his Thrinder/feeld date) are married and have a child, a daughter I believe, together.

Also, wanting your parent to be proud of you, and whether or not one wants to have a child, don't always go hand-in-hand.

Wow, Wow, Wow! Funny! Glad to hear that your father fought and beat Cancer! It scared the hell out of me when my sister has had cancer, twice, and beat it both times!

I felt the talk about his father having cancer, I lost my father to cancer in 2018 fifteen days after my fifteenth birthday in march, it's been tough but my father was a strong man, he fought as hard as he could until his time had come.

Brad I'm glad to hear your dad beat cancer, I wish I could say the same about my mom and my grandmother, my mom passed away from stage 4b lung cancer I had to watch her whither away from day one and yeah it killed me when she passed, march 28th of this year will be 6 years and yeah it still hurts and there for a couple years I know I became the son she didnt want to have, but I went through a 10 month rehab in boynton beach florida and got clean, and the only 2 people that helped me through that was my 7 year old daughter and my 3 year old son, but I know I have to move on for them, and teach them to be the best they can be and fight for the things they believe in, and that's what keeps me going, but thank you for your time to make people laugh, and you saying it was your lifetime goal to be the man your dad can be proud of, and I'm sure he would agree with me, I think he is very proud of you
