I think Brad struck a huge gold mine for video content with capturing the description of the oil pattern and layouts the way he did. And it'd be amazing to hear his experience on how he plans his ball rotation for tournaments according to that. You guys should consider adding that in the pool of subjects to create videos on. Either way, keep up the awesome videos guys! Love watching.
@christ9359 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, a lot of their training content is super helpful, but they don't usually go into oil patterns, playing transition, balls, surface, etc., at least not in any detail. They are smart, so there's no reason not to.

I have been bowling constantly since 1979 and don't care a bit about techniques and advice. I watch Brad and Kyle because I enjoy their behind the scenes look at the life of being a pro bowler. I have been watching the PBA for 44 years and like to root for and against players based on both their shots and personalities. Their videos help me decide who are my favorite players or Patrick Allens.

In regards to the skid down lane . It's related to the front to back taper on the pattern . Back in the old days we would say the buff zone was too short meaning the point that the lane machine stopped adding oil and began just buffing was too close the the end of the pattern. We could make the same pattern play totally different by changing speeds on the lane machine and altering the oil volume at the very end of the pattern. Also feels weird to see a tape Graph on the wall. Have not done those since the mid 2000's.

When I bowled a junior tournament in 2018 I bowled on old wood lanes and on boardwalk and what your describing about the pattern is what was for the tournament feeling when our balls got down lane

I learn so much from both of y'all's breakdown of different patterns. I'd be happy with 160 in these conditions. Nice to see Via & Belmonte striking with the Mix. I'm telling you, that ball is amazing! So smooth and controllable and hits hard. Shot 300-299-226 for my first 800 a couple of weeks ago with my Mix. Been waiting for the pros to discover the marvel of the Mix. Maybe not on last week's 49' flat, though!

Another great video and I just wanted to say thanks for all the free training and knowledge you provide on this channel. While I'm sure the membership is worth every penny, I think it's awesome that you don't keep everything behind a paywall. I really appreciate that. I was also wondering, how often during a tournament do the lanes get re-oiled? Is it just a once-a-day thing when the bowling center is being setup? Is it before each block of bowlers starts? Just something I've always wondered.

Yes, the scores are going to be high. Even though it's a sport shot compliant pattern, these guys are the best in the world and they will get it figured out. I mean you saw Justin Knowles and Frank Snodgrass both throw 300 in the PTQ. Anthony Neuer averaged 250 for the 8 games. It's going to be a Urethane carry fest.

Ok This may not be the right place to ask this question but I am looking for ideas to improve my ball speed. I am asking anyone . I am 60 years old and about a year ago I switched to the two handed style. I went from 16 lbs down to 14 and I use a 13 lb spare ball. My top speed with the 13lb ball is about 13.6 mph and with the 14 its typically 12 to 12.6. I have no skip step and my feet are like stone from neuropathy. Not the best for trying to speed up my footwork. Any help?
@jerryhinkle3786 Жыл бұрын
@@stevenmckay3623 Thank you for the quick response I will check it out but I have been told it was mainly foot speed. My 16 year old son switched to 2 handed a little over a year ago and I wanted to be able to help so I switched. He is now better than I am it did not take him long he is probably mid 180 average and I am currently averaging 172 and I had not bowled in league for almost 10 yrs. take care tyvm for the responce.
@browntrousersmoment Жыл бұрын
Since you might be limited do to neuropathy trying working on your accuracy instead of forcing more ball speed.
@DaMaxchi Жыл бұрын
I'm 72 now and switched to 2 handed 2 years ago. I also struggled with ball speed and I found that speeding up my foot work helped a little, but the biggest gain in ball speed came from accelerating my downswing and release WITHOUT hitting up on the ball. In other words, having an efficient release without wasting energy is key to ball speed. Good luck to your progress!!! You can do it!!!
