Stay in your play world too long, and the real world will seem unreal. A haunting, yet provocative tale by Ray Bradbury.

Yes it was. A cautionary tale of advancing technology? Ray Bradbury was way ahead of his time. Thanks for posting.

Bradbury imagined Star Trek Next Generation's Holodeck decades before it appeared in the series...

I was thinking about this story and how it seems to show the dehumanization of high-tech living. The kids have no emotional ties to their parents, the wife just happens to be there when dinner is being cooked. It definitely seems prophetic to me considering all the things we have now with our hand held devices, there are car accidents due to texting! We many be altering our own psychology with this things running our lives.

Absolutely. Amazing foreknowledge.

Had the cassette tapes and my thirty something adult kids remember me playing them on our road trips ❤

Peter and Wendy must be a Peter Pan reference. I met Ray Bradbury once and he autographed my book. He gave a very inspirational talk about writing from your own experiences. He inspired me to write a book called Tales of Time. It is a collection of short stories about time travel and other aspects of time. The stories have surprise endings in the style of Ray Bradbury.

Did you ever write the book? IF so I hope it sold well... Maybe if you wrote it you could get a good voice actor to read it and record it.. Then you could market it for a time, then add it to the list of wonderful stories to be found here on YT... Just a thought...

@@ImKate-mb7vb I think he did, but the title is somewhat different... "Tales in Time is an anthology of science fiction short stories about time (though not necessarily, as is usual in the genre, time travel), edited by Peter Crowther. It was first published as a trade paperback by White Wolf Publishing in April 1997."

What a loss, not only to 'Science Fiction', but also to the world of serious litriture. He has been an inspiration to me all my life, as an artist and as a designer, and I owe him everything! He showed me that anything is possible, there are no limits, because, there are no limits to the human imagination! The first book that realy opened my eyes, that I first read at 14, was 'The Illustrated Man'. With great gratiude, love and humility. R.I.P. My God bless and all your family.x.

Very few announcers have such commanding voices as Paul Frees.

Peter and Wendy with a tech version of Peter Pan for entertainment? Any one else out there read Mary Poppins (I think it's about neglected privileged children but only my opinion) instead of just seeing that sickly film? 🤔 Ray Bradbury, Brilliant and possibly a prophet. Good wishes 🙏🏼 ❤️ 🍀 🗺️ 🏴

My favorite song is based on this story... I never knew what the lyrics of the song meant until I read the story... I don't think I can listen to the song the same ever again...

Paul Frees sounds so much like Orson Welles.

It's a great adaptation but it isn't word for word from the original story.
