Bradley Cooper has opened a Philly cheesesteak restaurant in NYC, and the hype is real! It opened a few times in December but it has reopened in January, at least temporarily. It sells just one menu item, an authentic cheesesteak. What makes this spot interesting is that it's a collab between Bradley Cooper and Angelo's Pizzeria, the latter of which is considered one of the best cheesesteaks in Philly!
Bradley Cooper is from Philadelphia and he has never forgotten his roots! He is perhaps the most famous Eagles fan out there, besides maybe Kevin Hart, and often times you can spot Bradley Cooper at Eagles games. Besides his roles in movies and as an A lister celebrity, Bradley Cooper is now turning to his other passion, making authentic Philly cheesesteaks in New York City!
I decided to try it, as not only is it associated with Bradley Cooper, but it's also associated with Angelo's, the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia in my book, it's definitely the one to beat so far! We will seek to answer the question of is Bradley Cooper's cheesesteak worth the hype? Or is it all just overrated noise because of his name?

@@SHO1989 I'm old enough to recall, and yes, I waited in a long line line. When and where? Led Zeppelin's first show at the LA Forum, March 1970. Was it worth it.? What do you think? Like you. Sounds nice as long as you don't call it a Philadelphia/Philly Cheesesteak. I can understand why Philadelphians go mad when people from elsewhere add peppers and non-original choices of cheese to a cheesesteak sandwich, but on the other hand it's still a cheesesteak, isn't it? I think you should always be open and honest about what you're doing when communicating about food and realize that traditions matter. If you for example replace the beef in a bœuf bourguignon with lamb, it's okay as long as you don't call it a traditional bœuf bourguignon. Respect the traditions, respect the ingredients, respect the art and science of gastronomy, respect your guests and respect yourself as a cook.

That looked awful. Why would you get a nice soft roll and not have any bread to taste. That is part of the flavor,otherwise, it's just crust! The cheese should always be melted when you get it,not hope it melts. Also, all beef has to be seasoned with salt. I would rather have less meat and more bun. They should take the juice from cooking and dip quickly for it to be moist. Opening day forgiven, hope they read the reviews. Great job UA!

I suspect New Yorkers are jealous of Philadelphians. Over here in Europe, cheesesteak sandwiches are famous too. Most Europeans also know that pizza is popular in New York, but I've never heard anyone who's not from New York say that they're particularly good. Maybe we Europeans are spoiled with superior pizza, or maybe tourists don't visit the right pizza shops. I've been to the US, but not to NYC. I'd love to try the Italian food there and compare it to what I've experienced in Italy, but I would avoid Little Italy.

@alebroker7587 I'd like to try them all! The only pizza I've eaten in the Western Hemisphere is a slice I had in Miami Beach. The less I say about that experience the better. In Sweden, where I live, you can find all sorts of pizza; Neapolitan pizza, New York style pizza, Pizza Hut and Domino's like in many other countries, but the most unique type of pizza, as well as the most common one is traditional Swedish pizza. This pizza variety originally was made by Italian immigrants in the decades following WWII who couldn't find the ingredients they were used to back in Italy and therefore experimented with various Swedish cheeses, types of flour etc and created something the world had never seen before. Nowadays, pizzerias in Sweden are usually run by people from the Mid East. These restaurants often also serve kebab and sometime during the 1980s the kebab pizza was born. Today, kebab meat and different mayo and sour cream based sauces are among the most popular pizza toppings in Sweden. It has little to do with Neapolitan pizza, but most people who try it like it. It's difficult to go wrong with the combination of meat, cheese and bread.
@alebroker7587

@HerrBrutal-bl2fk i would definetly like to try that Swedish Pizza, although I would look for an intalian run restaurant, not a middle estern run place. I dont like places that do kebab and pizza at the same time. I like places that specialize in one dish.

Nothing but marketing crap. Bradley there to jump the business sales and hope they keep coming to try and see him sometime. He makes way more money filming. Most restaurants only make 10% profit margins after expenses but before taxes. The amazing ones do 20%. You see lots of people but that is not 24/7 just lunch and dinner rushes. The cheesesteak shown here looks very underwhelming. I can't stand those type of thin sesame buns. Too many seeds and the bread being thin and dry flakes off into bits all over you for crumbs and makes a mess. Jersey Mike's number 42 chicken philly, with chipolte mayo, on a wheat bun, and add bacon at the end. Crushes that philly shown there.
