The first episode of your Vlog I watched featured you standing at the stair to the high limit area in the Bellagio, talking about how nervous but excited you were to walk up that step. Now I'm watching ping 6 figure tourney finishes, be part of a successful card room, represent WPT, and go up against some of the biggest names in the game. This might be my favorite hero arc I've been around to witness. I wish you much success, good health, and cold beers. Cheers!

Not sure about your probability calculations: You say (3:00) "it's unlikely he has a straight because I have a blocker". In fact probability falls from 15 to 11 percent. So you holding a king reduces his probability by 4 percent. I think so-called blockers are way over rated!

I really appreciate the video cuts you guys inserted from past hands into the analysis you shared on the big hands; what you were thinking, why you saw it the way you did, as well as all the other observations you made to come to your decisions. I mean it was just freaking excellent from start to finish! I don't play, but really enjoy your vlogs!!!

Big fan of Brad and think you have an excellent brain for NL strategy, but I think you’re thinking in the AQ was pretty bad. You seemed to overvalue that you hadn’t tripled as a bluff in the game yet and undervalued that this villain played the previous hand as a total station (allowing his to turn way more kings than normal) and it’s bad strategy to bluff stations.

It seems to me when playing the 72 game, when facing mid-late position raises, you should ALWAYS be 3-betting 72. You balance it out with good hands, and other hands. It’s because opponents’ ranges widen in late positions and they’ll more likely fold pre-flop.
@Sullayee
@Sullayee 3 ай бұрын
@BradOwenPoker Have you considered adjusting your non-72o bluffing ranges when playing the 72o game? e.g. in the 2nd hand with AKo, I assume you take the same line with 72o. If so, you probably have =32 bluffing combos (72o, AKo). Does that concern you? Or do you believe the extra 200$/person covers the exploitability?

I think it's wild that when I started watching you and Andrew there was a vibe that you were somewhat tight but well educated on the game. I really need to do some reading on why super light bets on connected flops are somehow good for making money. I just do not understand why people bet 1/4 pot into a board with reasonable flush and straight draws. It only gives value to hands that connected and rarely gets folds. It *must* be predicated on the idea that you can make the reads super well and lay things down because it feels like chasing thin value just to lose a *huge* pot every so often.

Brad I've been watching for the last 2 years. In my personal opinion, the days you lose bigger, you seem determined to get bluffs through rather than fold. Once you show 2 or 3 bluffs, the table are always more likely to call a bit looser. I don't mean to offend you, but it's worth remembering as I always like to watch you win!

7 way (bomb pot) to flop with aces xx%? Gotta tread lightly (post) or go aggro if flop gives you more equity? Would ALMOST rather have middling suited connectors/gappers 5-8 (AA's and KK's nemesis). Not being able to raise opponents with junk hands out preflop makes navigating post a nightmare, especially when villain(s) commit at the river (polarization on steroids). Anyone put a good read together on bomb pot strategies yet? Recommended site find? Still quite a few players opting out/bathroom break during bp's these days.

Uff, I'm familiar with that bad tactic you mentioned at 14:00 "we showed a lot of strenght pre-flop, we're gonna continue showing strength"... and I end up putting more and more money into a hand that doesn't even deserve a call, let alone a raise. I think it's called sunk cost fallacy where we have to continue because we already invested so much. My advice is try to also read the opponent's body language, mouth, eyes, breath, level of comfort, how fast he calls, if he can afford to gamble/lose a lot of money for fun, what image you show with your tone of voice/body language, previous bluffs...etc. Your voice saying "all in" at 15:43 sounds weak, not gonna intimidate every opponent :P plus he might think that YOU were the one who missed the flush :P

You didn't have to 3 bet that big hand. When you size up your opponents strategy and chip count and the position in that position I just say hey he's playing it right and I can't do a thing accept get out of the hand and I either check or fold to any bet. That would have saved you money / percentages and if you can see that position again try to save your money.

This really comes down to knowing your opponent Bradley….here’s the thing, you have to be very careful who you decide to bluff off your stack to. The bad players…and this was definitely a bad player…just can’t be bluffed a lot of the times. It’s best just to try and not bluff people like that. A guy told me that a long time ago and I always took it to heart. Keep your head up bro, you’re a solid player. I know the swings from big wins to big loses is very hard. Go out and do something fun and relax before you play next time (:
