Fun fact about Avril 14th and Kanye. When Kanye was working on blame game his team contacted Aphex Twin asking to use the sample. Aphex Twin said he would be more than happy to rerecorded the whole song and help produce it as long as he got partial credit. Kanye didnt want to share the credit and decided to just steal it instead

Fourth of July by Sufjan Stevens is one of the most beautiful yet haunting tracks ive ever heard. I know Radiohead is already on this list but I think “Motion Picture Soundtrack” is their saddest and most beautiful song. The lyrics are simple yet depressing, the organs sound like a funeral tune, and at one point, it sounds angelic. It sounds so bittersweet, like you lost someone you love and are remembering the good times you had with them. And that last line. It’s hard to describe this song, but I think it’s sadder than true love waits. True love waits is depressing, but it maintains the same, simple, sad piano. Motion Picture Soundtrack sounds uplifting and sad at the same time, playing with your emotions more. Not to mention it’s more diverse on terms of composition.

My personal pick would be Snake eyes by DEMONDICE. I could never explain to you how gorgeous this perfect song is. It's amazing opener leading you to the absolute wonderous, fun world of Satan's rap dungeon. When Demondice starts with that "Na-nana-na-na" It just brilliantly displays her troublemaker, demonic personality. And then when she says "Jesus Jesus Japanesus" That line is such a beautiful, Intelligent line. It signifies that Demondice is our savior. She's a Jesus figure but since she lives in Japan she's JAPANESUS. When the line "Satan said i wasnt black male or hood enough" is said I felt that so hard. As Demondice is meant to represent those who go against dumb mumble (c)rappers like KenDICK lamar or KanGAY West. Satan represents the liberal society that oppress white rappers. I relate to this because i once went to jail on 4 charges of hate crimes. And there was this one really cool guy who was arrested for Selling crack to children and everyone HATED HIM FOR BEING WHITE. He taught me the true prison sentence of the world was being white. And from that day I learned to value the teachings of my lord and savior, Tom MacDonald. When Demondice begins talking about Mental health when she talks about "Rapping apparitions with well... Mental conditions" I felt EVERYTHING when she made that pause. Because she was so afraid to talk about her mental health because she would be OPPRESSED because of her white skin. Demondice is truly the savior of the world. She will continue to push past the WOKE agenda. There's also this Mori Calliope lady and she makes AMAZING music as well, My personal favorite is Huge W, I just wanted to give a recommendation because she sounds a lot like Demondice and EVERYONE should be like Demondice. In conclusion, Snake eyes put me to tears. Demondice please marry me -Bartholemew Radke

Yes this, love this song. Unison, Hyperballad and It’s Not Up To You are some honorable mentions too. Love Undo as well. Björk’s screaming and the choirs at the end of Unison are so beautiful, brings me to tears, it’s like the whole album she has been quite shy but on the closer it’s like she gains the courage to speak up. Love it. “Let’s unite tonight, we shouldn’t fight, embrace you tight”

“Since I Left You” by The Avalanches. This song gives me a tremendous feeling of hope and beauty. it is entirely assembled from samples which adds a very powerful value, it sounds like an abstract work of art would sound, it is able to cheer me up on the saddest days. If you've never heard it, I recommend watching the music video, it expresses the feeling of the song very well. If you've already heard it, I recommend listening to the entire album, it is a blast of many moods, but keeping in the beautiful song, I think you all should hear "A Different Feeling" and "Tonight May Have To Last Me All My Life". Fantano reviewed this album last year which got me immensely excited as the album is sensational and a lot of people should hear it.

The moon by the microphones is probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It's a bit noisy, but the soft vocals being sang in a fast pace, the drums that rush as if you're remembering everthing all at once, the lyrics of heartbreak, grief and acceptance, the horns that appear throught the song, all of it combined to make an incredible experience. Also, the beggining with the plucky guitars being played off sync, and then dropping with a wall of sound... The surprise i had listening to this for the first time is something that I don't think I'll ever experience again.

With the mention of Claire de Lune, I wanted to mention Pavane For A Dead Princess by Ravel. For those who don't know, a Pavane was a court dance performed during the 16th and 17th century. It's definitely a slow song to get through, but it's so haunting and beautiful. All I can imagine when I hear it is a somber group of people laying their princess to rest, then dancing for their fallen princess. I imagine this little girl resting in her coffin, wearing her finest dress and adorned with little flowers. I'm not sure how others feel about it, but it's one of those songs I think of from time to time.

Very nice to see C418/Minecraft (and games in general) represented! I feel like game OSTs are broadly slept on as far as 'good music' goes. I would absolutely love to see you react to the whole album, and the in-game music discs as well. Jim Croce’s Time In a Bottle is a beautifully somber song about him wanting to spend time with his son. Sadly, he died in an airplane accident in 1973. A comment in one video said he wrote the song as if he knew his time is about to run out.

Space Junk Galaxy (from the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack) Super Mario Galaxy's soundtrack is already incredible, but Space Junk Galaxy is something special. The song's piano melodies perfectly capture the beauty of space, as well as the feeling of isolation, as you float through the stars and wonder what else there is to discover in this endless universe. This song is great for relaxing your mind after a stressful day.

Glad that the Cocteau Twins were featured here. Another example from them that I think could have made the list is the one called Sea, Swallom Me. It doesn't sound nearly as modern as most tracks from Heaven or Las Vegas (in fact, the drums are very 80s sounding), but its almost waltz-like rhythm is with that wonderful melody is sooo pretty.

25:26 I actually do resonate with what Brad is saying here. Getting into music early on, I found myself listening to nothing but /mu core albums, and not getting the appeal whatsoever. It wasn’t until I listened to Vespertine by Bjork. At that point, listening to albums started to become less about analyzing them from a cold and calculated perspective, but rather, experiencing them, and letting them envelop you.

Control by Little SImz first came to mind when I read the title. It's a very calm track and her voice is quite soothing, almost is if she's speaking to comfort someone, coupled with these really soulful vocals and simple piano. She speaks about trauma and loving someone through it - it makes me feel safe just listening to it honestly and I think its placement on the album is great as a closing track as it encapsulates the kind of healing and "going over things" explored in No Thank You. Definitely a smaller scale song but one of the best on the album!

"Teardrop" is one of those songs that genuinely make me cry. Ever since I was a kid, when the song and music video came up, I would always end up crying. Maybe I'm misunderstanding it, but the song and the music video combined always give me the strange feeling like I'm in a very dark place with the worst thoughts beyond imagination. Nothing's gonna hurt you baby by cigarettes after sex is the most euphoric song ever made. It puts you at peace and nearly made me cry the first time I heard it, especially with Greg's soft voice matching the energy of the instrumental. The lyrics make deep visuals despite the whole vibe of the song lacking any color, which only adds to the emphasis on the visuals alone. Everything leads up to the absolute bliss of a chorus with the synth that feels unexpected but right. It's like any weight on your shoulders evaporates and leaves you with relief. Definitely not something you would expect to see out of 2012, its aged beautifully

쇠사슬 ("Ahhhhh, These Chains!") by Mid-Air Thief. the whole album (it's from "Crumbling") is very fulfilling and pretty in it's own terms, but I think These Chains is the track that got me truly interested in the Folktronica genre. from start to end it just sends goosebumps down my spine with these warped and tiny-like instruments. the sound through-out the song is filled up with prettyness and the countless layers of various instruments are creating the sound that I personally haven't seen anywhere else in the genre. truly innovative and lovely.

For a jazz recommendation, "It Never Entered My Mind" off of Miles Davis' album Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet. I truly believe some of the prettiest songs are made for TV and films. Lately I've been watching Outlander, and The Skye Boat Song is one of the prettiest songs I've heard. It reminded me of To The Faires They Draw Near from the Tinker Bell movie - not just because they have Celtic influences, but because they tell these great tales of traveling to another world, and for a few minutes, you almost feel like you're there too. Deliver Us from Prince of Egypt, Test Drive from How To Train Your Dragon, Once Upon A December from Anastasia, Patient Is The Night from Over The Garden wall - these composers are spitting out bangers for these shows and movies EDIT: I also wanted to say that I got out of a 5 year relationship this past weekend, and so I'm glad this video was created. Remembering all these beautiful songs is giving me something to feel hopeful about
