Alu-Cab Shadow Awn Install Part 1 - 100 Series Land Cruiser Overland Rig Build

Check out the install of our Alu-Cab Shadow Awn awning brackets on our frontrunner slimline II roof rack on our 100 series land cruiser overland build. Things didn't go quite as planned but still an easy awning install.

You are sure to see some major work on the hundy as we continue to get it expedition ready. Now we have a second major project, a first gen Tacoma 4x4 TRD off-road. For each mod we will start with a intro of the modification, possible options, hard choices and tradeoffs, and sketch out the plan. Did you see any buckling in your rack after the install? My AluCab shadow 270 is leaning out a bit shortly after install. The rack seems to be buckling. Trying to find a reinforcement method.

I noticed (at least on mine) that the front runner rack rail is shorter than the bracket. Did you just tighten them and just let the pressure pull the top and bottom faces (of the bracket) in contact with the rail?

As much as they charge for that bracket kit you would think it would be engineered better.

I certainly wish things lined up a little better for the installation but I can tell you that the brackets are extremely robust and have held up extremely well these past few years.

You totally screwed it up. That's not how you install it. You could install the whole thing without drilling one whole.
